Someone mentioned we Websterites meet up at Earthtones coffee shop, but I can't find their post! (sorry)
They're right, though: Earthtones is a great writer's haven. Anyone up for meeting there?

Hope you got off to a great start today ...

How about this Thursday at 6pm? We'd be meeting to write, right, or just to socialize?

Thursday at 6pm works for me! Uhm, my guess is we'll be socializing, but I'm bringing my netbook to try my hand at writing somewhere that isn't my room, haha....We'll see how that works out :) We should try writing, too! Do we have any chefs or bakers in Webster? I have a whoooole bunch of batches of Amish Friendship bread and recipes to pass out.

See you all then!

I hope you can find a babysitter! Unless others disagree, I'd say you're also welcome to bring your little one(s), unless you think it might be troublesome? I love kids, myself :) I'll probably be there from 6pm until closing, so there's no rush for everyone to come right at 6 on the dot. Just look for the little Asian girl with glasses wearing jeans and a tshirt chewing on a pen when you get in, and that's me!

I'm in & out of Webster a lot, but where is Earthtones?
If I can find it by 6 PM Thursday, I'll be the old battleaxe with a MacBook.

It's on Bay Road, just north of Empire Blvd, on the west side of Bay (across from Eastway Wegmans). There's a little plaza there, with a liquor store in it.

Like Trillian said :) If you see the Goodwill and Salvatore's Pizza, it's right on the same building as Sal's.

Good luck everyone! would love to join you, but I'm already booked for dinner. I'll wave if I drive by.
Generally I go to Panera or Red Robin on Thursday's to write between 5-6:30 before I have to bowl. Atmosphere in both has been good, esp. since I don't do coffee. :-)

Aww! I hope you can meet up with us sometime, if not tonight! I find Red Robin to be really, really, really noisy, but I'm one of those people who's easily distracted by noises/sounds/movement. I always feel guilty sitting in a place like Panera, because I feel like I'm taking up space other people need to use for dinner/lunch/whatnot. You don't have to drink coffee in coffee shops :D You can have a pastry with tea, or soda, or hot cocoa....mmmm, cocoa....

In case anyone is checking here this late in the day, I'm planning to show up at Earthtones after I have dinner at home with my family. Should be by 6:30 at the latest. Hoping to find a few of you there at least! I'll bring my MacBook in case we decide to write, if not, I'll probably leave by 7:30 to get some time in at home. And FYI, I don't drink coffee either :) I'm sure I'll find something to buy to make me a paying customer and not just a space freeloader. See ya later!

So nice to meet Call_On_The_Dawn and G1nj3r at Earthtones this evening! We (or at least I) didn't get any writing done, but it was great to get to know some of you and put faces and real names to online names.

Yay!!! I had a fun time tonight, too, with Ginger and Trillian! I was a little sad that we didn't see Kelley, but there's always next time! We did more chatting and bouncing ideas off one another than anything, but I think it's a good start to a little pep group to keep each other motivated, too. Sorry if I was a little quiet, I like to listen and observe people's mannerisms and the way they interact with one another. :) Some day, you might wind up written into one of my novels (BWAhahahaha).
Don't let that scare you off. *Halo* Shall we have a weekly day that we all get together to do local Webster write-ins at Earthtones? I thought the website said they close at 10, but they turned the lights off on us at 8pm, so now I know! (I'm especially dyslexic with numbers, whee!) Next time, we should have a minimum of writing time together, maybe an hour? What do you guys think?
Also, I meant to explain earlier -- part of the reason I like meeting up in Webster: my night vision is awful. Part of the scotopic sensitivity is me being completely blinded by the presence of headlights and street lights in the dark. It makes meeting at night difficult unless someone else is driving, or if there aren't many cars on the road :)

I am so sorry I missed you! I'm glad you had a great time.
I'm full of excuses: Dentist apointment ran late, no babysitter, put my neck out, I'm a chicken when it comes to meeting new people, yada yada. Didn't write Friday either.
My husband is getting back to town late Sunday night, so I'll get there next meet-up. And thanks for the offer to bring my son. I appreciate it!

Oh, it's quite alright!!! No worries! We have plenty of other weeks to get together for NaNo, or even beyond NaNo! :)
When I told my neighbour friend about NaNo, she told me that there's an author who teaches writing courses at the Webster Library every other week! I was thinking about going, it's from 6:30 - 9pm, but I'm not sure what day it is - I think Wednesdays.
I hope you're feeling better very soon!! Please just rest and get better first, just write when you can, then you can play catch-up :) With the drastic weather changes (it was freezing last night/this morning, then warm right now), I'm torn between wanting to curl up and die and wanting to type, myself. I can't wait for it to just be cold and dry instead of all the ups, downs, moist, and dry.
