Hi all,
Here's our banter thread where we can offer each other encouragement and others can try, and fail, to demotivate us :D

Well done all! We're currently in 5th place out of 14, an excellent start!
Now let's thrash them all with our speedy fingers! :D
Let's aim to win both prizes; highest average word count and highest proportion of people who win!
We can do it Essex! We were really high in the world table last year!

That's this year's scoreboard, though, right? I mean, where did we come in the world table last year?

I don't remember exactly where we came in the world average word count, but it was just outside the top ten (I think!)
----------We didn't take part in the UK word war last year as we didn't have an ML.

woooooooooo 2nd place... i didn't write a word yesterday for my wrist's sake.. and today in class I wanted to try writing again without the brace... Now it is slightly tingly and when I bend it back it goes numb >> So.. will write today, but not making the mistake of writing without the brace again >>

We've slipped to 4th place, but there's plenty of time to get back up there.
----------Come on everyone, let's beat those word targets! :D

I didn't write at all yesterday because I wasn't at home. I was in Oxford, actually, which is very nice but it doesn't mean they can beat us! Today I am going to write like a WRITING MACHINE. Go Essex!

Well, I truly am sorry to hear about your wrist Hanxa.
Though, since you're in the word war this year, I can't help but be comforted by the thought that you might not break the 1 million mark this year.
It means the rest of our chances just went from none to slim. (Well except that our last year's best writer is apparently with Oxford this time)

I just passed the 27k mark and I'm feeling accomplished.
Since the weekend, I've gone from feeling like I have to write to hit my word count to *wanting* to write so I can hang out with my characters and live their lives. This is my first NaNo and I'm a true convert now.
Go Essex!
