To anyone planning to join us Friday night, Nov. 6th at Panera ---

I just found out I have to attend a funeral viewing at 6:00 PM, so I'll be a little late ( 1/2 hour to 45 minutes.) If you show and don't see me, please go ahead and start writing. I'll be along before your laptop batteries even think of running down! I'll plan on staying a little later to make up for showing up late.

Back section of Panera on ISB. See you there?

I don't have a laptop, but might come by just to say "hi" and meet some fellow writers. Is that cool?

Absolutely, Ray. Bring a pad & pen if you have to. We'll be the ones with our heads down, typing furiously! :-)

I'm going to go a little early to the viewing, hoping to get to Panera closer to 6:00.

Sounds great! I couldn't get over there this evening, but will try to hit you all up on Sunday morning. I'm very curious to see who else has accepted the challenge. I'm in a writing session now - up to 11,269 words, so ahead of schedule.

I worked today in a "Special" class and I'm beat. I thought about it and decided I didn't much want to make the drive up there. Might make it next week, but will be there for sure on Sunday the 15th.

We had a great write-in today. There were seven of us, all with our heads down and into our individual works in progress. Good vibes! Panera was busy, but we pretty much had our place in the back nailed down, and I got almost 1400 words (three of us stayed until just after 1:00 PM.)

Hope to see more of you there. Shared companionship, even in the solitary act of writing, feels better to me. It's like, misery does love company, right? AND we had coffee! 0__0

Yesterday was just what I needed! I had my Joe Satriani playing and I got my fight scene hammered out. MUCH better than it was! For anyone who uses music for pacing, Satriani is great for action scenes. Okay, he's great for any reason, but isn't it nice to have an excuse to justify cranking up the volume?

I had prison chain gang music playing, but then it fits the theme of my novel. Thanks to Laurie for the loan of her Bose noise-cancelling headset. It kept me from going home with the tinitus ringing in my ears!

I'm still waiting to hear the full tale of the family drama that unfolded in our section. Or maybe not drama, but comedy of errors? I just saw the toddler running around from table to table and Mommy in the Pooh hat and fur coat afterward. I surely DO want to know what was going on! I was so engrossed in my writing & music, not to mention sitting on the opposite side of the room, I didn't notice. I gather it was pretty amusing, based on how others were laughing.

She's apparently a regular, Lindlae. She and the guy were there again today, sans kid. That's the third time I've seen them there, in fact. The first time she was giving us a rather unsavory view of her backside as she bent at the waist in ill-fitting jeans. Neither one of them is quite "right," I'm afraid.

See what you're missing, all you who don't attend the write-ins? +___+

Today we were 'asked' to pick up our extension cord and 6-way. The Panera Division Manager was there, and thought it was a tripping hazard, even tho only our group was in the area. I understand her position, I suppose. Therefore...

FRIDAY NIGHT'S MEETING WILL BE AT THE FRONT OF THE RESTAURANT, crowd willing, where the traffic is limited, and we can hopefully congregate around one 6-way. Okay, got that?

FRIDAY NIGHT. PANERA RESTAURANT. 6:00 to 8:00 PM. FRONT OF THE RESTAURANT.

(In other news, I won't be there next Sunday. I'll probably still be at the track for the Turkey Rod Run. If I'm late on Friday, know that I'm on my way, but I may just go directly to Panera from the Speedway.)

Oh MAN! I wish I hadn't missed the fat lady in the Pooh ears episode! DAMN! Well, that's what happens when I give of myself and my time, huh? I miss all the fun.

However, on an upbeat note - religious ed class was the biggest it's ever been - 18 kids & 2 guests! Most of them will move over to confirmation class, but it was exciting nonetheless. Even more exciting, they remembered what we talked about 2 weeks ago AND understood the lesson - so I guess I'm doing something right (at the moment anyhow)

I will try to get to the write in Friday and/ or Sunday Not sure I can make both. I'm supposed to go to the Beall's outlet sale Friday, so I may not be in any condition to write. However, Sunday sounds possible. Maybe Pooh ears will be there!?
