Creating a thread so you can all gather in one spot and decide on a time / location to suit ya'll.
So... GO!

LeeBattersby and I took our Nano groupie down to Dome on the Mandurah Foreshore today and wrote our first words. Our groupie (aka my bestfriend Terri) provided us with chips/wedges and teenage babysitters, then sat with us and wrote while we hit our first Nano '09 keystrokes. I'll let Lee give you his results, but I ended a two hour stint with 2681 words.
I love the Mandurah Foreshore. I took pics of us and our writing space today which I'll get Lee to post on his blog (battersblog.blogspot.com). The sunshine hitting the water was amazing, as was the coffee, the wine (I had one glass) and the company. Lee and I often write together, but Nano is proving to be an extra special time for us as it motivates us to move past the family/work/social commitments and make progress with our writing careers.
Hope you all had productive days too.
Cheers,
Lyn

Mandurah might be a tiny bit too far for me, but I'm not completely unwilling to meet up with fellow NaNos. While I'd readilly suggest something closer to Fremantle, I realize that may be out of reach for many others.
Nevertheless, I'll watch this space and see what happens. :)

I'll rep Wellard for the Kwinana group. xD
Mandurah is a good place for me to meet you with you guys and write.
Would anyone be catching the train down, though?
'Cause I'd have no idea where to go. D:

I love Mandurah Dome. It's right on the water and despite it being Melbourne Cup day they didn't object to me nursing my iced tea for over an hour while I wrote. I got a comfy chair and a beautiful view and uninterrupted writing time.
Off to pick up the kids now.
Have fun guys.

I live in Rockingham, Cooloongup to be exact.
Having a 7 year and being a single mum means I may not be able to go write ins but its nice to know how many other crazy people are Nano-ing in your area.
I could of sworn the young man with a laptop at the Merchant Teahouse on the Rockingham Foreshore this Saturday was a Nano-er but I didn't have the guts to ask him.
Cheers

That'll also be me - I also have a tiny laptop and a red handbag. But I'll be the one standing/sitting with the gruff looking bearded man with the big laptop and no handbag (red or otherwise :))
I asked yesterday and they're more than happy to let us plug our computer into the many sockets they have dotted around the place. I saw one of the booths had them yesterday as did the many of the tables that are overlooking the water.
See you there!
