Hello fellow NaNo-ers!
A tentative date and place has been suggested for our mid-month Night of Writing Dangerously! We're looking at the evening of the 13th November out at Collector.
The plan at this point is that we'll use the Collector hall (TBC), and arrange carpools for anyone who needs one. If you intend to come please RSVP so we can begin arranging transport. There is high speed wifi available at the hall, so don't worry about being disconnected from the hive mind - we can connect you!
Items that you will need to bring:
A doona or blanket (the hall has a hard floor)
A pillow
A shareable snack for the group
Writing devices of some description
Items we would totally love you to bring:
Caffeine in various forms
a iPod with a playlist of music for background noise
Good cheer, and NaNo craziness
More updates will happen as our lovely ML (and others) have more info to give.
Cheers!
A

Looks like I can probably go for the afternoon of the 13th, but will have to go home that evening. I'll be one of the ones needing help with transport!

Yeah, I'm in. I can fit probably three people in my little barina, if you don't need leg room as a safe bet.
I can't promise the music from my car stereo will be anything less than weird though :D

I'm going to RSVP just in case-but I won't need a lift.
I'm going to have to convince my parents, as that's the weekend before my tests begin =/ But I'll do my best!

Ah, that's a point. I'll mention now that I've got a little Mirage, so three seats is probably the
most you'd want to try, though there could be a fourth if there's someone very little in need of a lift.

I'll be in I should think, though I'll need some help with transport! But perhaps I can get a ride with my friend...
I'm glad there's another get together, I was too busy with Halloween to make it to the kick-off XZ Oh it sounds so exciting!

*hand up tentatively*
I know my lappy has a dodgy battery, I'd need to attach to a wall. I'm assuming there wont be enough sockets for all of us so extension cords/power boards are a good idea.

I may be able to make it but I won't be able to leave canberra till after the little one goes to bed so how far is it to collector anyway.
I have a largish car with baby seat so can fill it up, I can bring plenty of power stuff if required and possibly a spare laptop to share. I also cook so can probably bring some food.
Can someone post the adress so I can check out the routes and times etc

I think we're just waiting to confirm that we can get the hall, so no concrete details have been sent out yet. Everyone will get an e-mail when we're set, so don't worry about that :-)

I'll have to get a lift with whoever is willing to come out fraser way... good thing is I'm only 5 mins from the barton highway... so easy exit out of town to the federal Hwy...
Collector from memory is about a 45 minute to an hour drive out of canberra.. You go past it on the way to goulbourn.. and it's just after/ around lake george from memory...

At the write-in/kick-off, Sarah Mechelle asked about mid-day write ins and somehow through about a few topic changes someone mentioned the "night of writing dangerously" and then because she lives out that way, mentioned "I might be able to get a hall out that way really cheap"
and That's how that ball started rolling.

Well there is always the cheaper option; we could just pick a quiet spot out in in civic. Or is that writing TOO dangerously? XD
But seriously, while I'm psyched for the night, both me and my friend Silhouette aren't past our L's yet. We'll be your best friends, and we'll ride with anybody who's offering on the night.
Even those with a collection of wacky knives.
Despite the recent trend of wacky knife murder.

Hationyx.. Don't worry about not being past your L's....
I must admit.. Though I am turning 21 this coming monday... do not have my p plates yet and have held my learners for 3 years, which will possibly will end up being for another year...
Nothing to worry about at all...

So we need someone to be the responsible *cough* adult who can introduce themselves to the parents and reassure them that their kids 1. wont be murdered; 2. will get home safely; 3. wont be eaten by aliens and/or wolves (assuming we had some).
I'll have 3-4 seats free depending on the size of the passengers. Despite being in Palmerston I don't mind picking people up.
