What would it be rated? I am curious.

Mine is a YA epic fantasy. So we are in PG13ish range. So far at least.

I'm thinking PG-13 maybe R but I don't think so.

Well, since PG-13 is getting so lenient now-a-days, i probably will have.

If it does what mine usually do, R. ;) Better than last year, which was solidly in NC-17 territory and had no pretensions of anything else.

Unless absolutely necessary, make characters talk at cross-purposes. How many of us actually listen to other people? We don't. We're always thinking about what to say next, when they shut up.

Honestly, it would be no worse than PG, and only for the presence of creepy clowns and at least one (off screen) death.

PG-13 for the moments that occur throughout the whole beginning (and probably the rest of the novel).

It's about a girl who gets kidnapped. I think calling it PG would be pushing it, extremely. :/

At this point it's G pushing on PG. Depending on how my mood affects the characters, it could go as far as R.

If they do it the way I'm writing it, PG... but it would be easy to push it to R. Lots of sex scenes, I just have the actual sex happening offscreen.

Alas, I must revise my rating estimate. With eight people dead (four of those quite horribly), three traumatized and one hospitalized by the end of chapter 2 the violence alone puts it firmly in PG-13 territory.

mine would end up being PG-13. its a fantasy/horror type. haveing to do with demon children, magic powers, vampires ect. they'll end up fighting sometime and that'd be pretty gory. (getting new inspiration for a gifted)

I've been sitting here trying to decide how my story would be rated and I've finally decided. What I have is the TV edited version of an R rated movie. I expect this would probably play well on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon on SYFY channel...or probably straight to video/dvd. I'd have to slap some scantily clad women on the front, that have nothing to do with the story, just to get rental revenue.

This film has been rated "R" by the MPAA for pervasive violence, bloody gore, terror, bizarre alien entities and epic occult spiritual possessions.

Probably no stronger than PG. If my protagonist ends up going to war, which I doubt will end up happening, maybe PG-13, then.

Mine is a romantic comedy, so probably PG-13. It's so P.S. I love You minus the dying husband, but totally He's Just Not That Into You because of the romantic advice stuff.

Mine would be a PG summer blockbuster type movie--primarily because of the explosions.

I absolutely hope if they do DO the Cowboy Bebop live action movie and it doesn't suck they get Yoko Kanno to do the soundtrack. Wouldn't be Bebop w/o YK's music. :D

I agree. Unfortunately, with Keanu Reeves behind it, I'm going in with low expectations.
All this talk of Yoko Kanno reminds me. I've been wanting to carve up Tank! and turn it into a ring tone for some time now. Maybe after nano I'll finally get around to doing it.

If it wasn't made that accurate to the plot, around PG range.

If it was, PG-13.
