Hey Seoul NaNo'ers, how's your first day going?

Thanks to the Night of 5000 Words, I actually banged out 6030 words before I hit the hay at 5:30am. I hope to get a few more in tonight as well. Of course, the story is pretty lame. I'm making plot choices for convenience, things I would never do in a more thoughtful writing process, and there are things I really need to research (police procedure, blood splatter patterns) but there's no way I'm going to take time to do that.

So, tell us about your first day experience? Are you on track? Is your story going well?

I'm lost in ruminations about long-distance running, Pink Floyd, and Pennsylvanian landscapes instead of furthering the plot...so I'd say it's going pretty well!

Well, since I had a plot already laid out ... generally... at least for the beginning. That's not a big deal. The research for things that I didn't think of before hand, oh well. I'll deal with that later.

Have fun writing!

Pennsylvania and what all now? Yours sounds interesting.

Word count is on track, going to try and hit the 8000 mark today (1500 before I go see inglourious bastards, 1500 when I get home). The 'fluff' story is actually going better than the 'serious' one, which is unexpected.

Oh, fine...just looked up how to re-hydrate dried corn, that's going to be very important for my plot, you know...

And, I've already washed all the dishes, done a load of laundry, re-organized my bedroom, and put some rice on...It's a productive day!

I'm knackered today, thanks to pulling the first all-nighter in I don't know how many years - probably since my film school days, I'd wager. I've got the whole scratchy eye thing going on right now. I'm hoping that'll go away sometime this afternoon, so I can bang out another couple thousand words, but we'll see.

Thanks to the Night of 5000 words, I'm sitting on 5110 right now. I'd like to get that up to at least 7000 by the time I crash tonight. Fingers crossed...

Hi guys,

I cranked out over 3000 before I had to go out for a party. Am now slightly grotty feeling and wondering how to get going today. My husband, who is planning to Nano this year (we finally hooked him!) is snoring away in the bedroom, so he's off to a good start!

short story: MC is a long-distance high school track-runner who lives in a neighborhood Suspiciously Familiar To My Own, she was out for an evening run and listening to music while her parents went out for dinner and to get some new curtains for their bedroom. Now her parents are missing, presumably prey to the budding zombie apocalypse.

Currently at 2.7 k, will probably hit 3 and maybe 4 by the time I wrap it up for the night. Depends on if I go out for dinner.

Unrelated: Inglourious Basterds was great and, thankfully, they used an American print to subtitle here in Korea so the English subtitles are all intact. Totally worth seeing.

I like the story Kokoba.

At 10k my MCs finally figured out the other one is a paranormal, but they have no idea who bought the house (which has nothing to do with the dead bodies that have started showing up... surely).

I'm surprised I hit 10k. Of course I don't have a social life. You guys are doing good jobs!

Just got to 5k. Goodnight and good typing tomorrow! If you squeeze another 5k out tomorrow you'll be a fifth done! Just something to think about...
