We had great fun with this in past years so I'm putting it out there to try again this year: when you finish your writing for the day, post your last sentence here. It's freaky how everyone's sentences combine into a narrative that almost makes sense after a while :) Good luck/good writing, guys! :)

Well, I began writing at midnight (obviously) and wrote for a solid few hours. I consider the last sentence at this point the last sentence for the day yesterday, because midnight feels like yesterday (and I have since slept.)

Anyway, the last "sentence";

The boy with the glasses turned to the boy with brown hair and asked, who is that guy, and the boy with the brown hair replied, I don't know but he has a cat on his head and I really don't want him to see us.

quotation marks are my enemy :p

That had been his entire life in University after all, events he didn’t care for and establishments he could get in to because he’d been under the drinking age.

Work took up the good middle chunk of my day, but I managed to get out nearly 2,000 words today, more than I've ever written of a story before. I'm hoping I'll have the motivation to keep going tomorrow when I get home. It's been really neat reading the rest of your last sentences. I'm curious what you're all up to.

The adventure she's embarking on is dark and rather macabre, sure, but it's an adventure nonetheless, and it's to help someone who - in spite of their vast differences in personality and the fact that Shari's significantly less than alive - Laine already considers sort of a friend.

(Good grief, I'm tired - but proud! Woke up this morning with no plot and no characters, and am now going to bed with plot, characters and over two thousand words!)

I might end up writing more today, but it's a busy day out of the house, so I'll call this my last sentence for now.

"Death was coming to the betrayer, in God’s holy name, and heaven help those who stood in the way. "

Day two:

(not entirely sure I'm done but I have a migraine developing and NOT writing seems like a more helpful idea)

"...Your soul and your abilities are very valuable.”

Not sure how I always manage to end the day with someone talking a blue streak but meh.

Day two, midway through chapter 3:

"Decades passed in an instant of images and emotions, and I do not know when I climbed atop one of its massive roots, curling into the space against the trunk and soaking the song in."

Wow, without context that makes no sense. He's just learned he can talk to tress. :)

It sounds like a decent plan, so Laine nods slightly, leaning as casually as she can against the street sign and glancing at her watch as though waiting for someone else to arrive.
