It might just be you, but if you take a look at the events calendar you'll see that we've organised a few write-ins in Chichester, which is very close to you.

2009 - Ice and Fire (working title)
2008 - The Mobster and the Mermaid
2007 - A Consequence of Living
2006 - Blue, Part 2

Thanks SheBit, I'll take a look and see if there are any I can get to. Although aged laptop's battery tends to only work for about ten minutes, so not sure quite how productive it would be..........
Cheers

Since she has been totally useless, I will reply on behalf of Melisende: She's at Chichester uni, but lives in Bognor. I don't know if this helps you at all...

Well thank goodness for that! I was starting to think I was the only Bognor Nanoer and that would be truly sad!
Hallo apolina, and Melisende via The Tsp. I used to work at the Bognor campus of Chi Uni, a lot of years ago when the student records office was based there. Lovely place to work, mostly.
It's good to know that there are at least three of us being creative in Bognor. Maybe the old place isn't completely dormant after all !

Hiii! I am the above mentioned Melisende.
(Thanks, Tsp :P)
Now I'm not quite so ear deep in essays, I think it'd be cool to have a Bognor write-in, or to see more peeps at the ones in Chi. :D
Weird to think I may be passing other NaNo people in Morissons and not even realising it. :P

We should organise our own write-in, or bog-in, or whatever, even if there are only three of us. You only need three for a crowd!

Wow, I really didn't think there would be any fellow Bognor...ians(?) here.

Steady - remember this is Bognor we're talking about ! And honestly, what would we do with the world if we did take it over? I mean sure, there would be no more wars because nobody could be bothered to turn out for them, but there would be no lovely old cinemas any more either, just a few more retirement flats because you can never have too many of those, right?
Cathy
(who is just the tiniest bit bitter about the proposal to close Bognor's last cinema (there were three when I were a lad) and turn it into flats to make some rich people richer).
ps - re earlier proposals for a local write-in - I'd be up for it if we could find a suitable venue, evenings or weekends only. Any suggestions anyone? I've not done the Chi ones due to it being hell to get to from Bognor at that time of day, also I don't think the pub has a car park. But Bognor, yes, quite willing to write-in in Bognor.

You guys should find somewhere to have one this weekend because I'm coming to stay with Melisdende... It'd be really fun to meet more crazy NaNoers. (Also to boost my wordcount!)

OK... Poli takes charge...
Hmmm.
Lets meet on Saturday.
What time? Could we manage daytime?
Where? Coffee shop? Pub? the lovely Hotham Park?
Ideas guys?
My laptop is broken (typical!) so I'm on my partner's clunky PC.
Therefore I might not be able to do much in the way of actual writing, but I could jot some stuff down with good old pen and paper.
If we want internet access I know that Costa has some wifi and also I believe Hatters does too.
Maybe it would be good to just meet up and discuss issues/ideas/ the price of fish... etc? (although we should be working of course, I appreciate that!)
Answers on a postcard, please...
Poli
PS Yes I am miffed about the cinema too, Cathy. Did you go to the public meeting? The last news I heard was that the council want to buy it...?

Ok, well that's a positive start. I can do Saturday. My laptop is about fifty million years old and will probably only last about 20 minutes (if that) on its battery, so if I am to add significantly to my word count then somewhere with electrical outlets will be necessary. Which I guess means anywhere including Hotham Park, because nowhere gives electricity away, right? WiFi? My poor little computer was already old and grey when WiFi was invented!
Like you, I can still use a pen when required, so anywhere will suit me apart from the likes of McDonald's - being veggie I can't abide the smell.. Whatever's easiest for anyone else is fine with me. Hatters probably has more room that most places, although I've not been there for years so will be advised by others.
Cathy
ps - Didn't make the meeting because I was out of the country. I heard that about the council too, so fingers crossed!

Hahahahaha - McDonalds doesn't serve MEAT! It's PROCESSED. Not processed meat, just processed.
But, even as a serious carnivore, I don't like McDonalds, so I'm with you there.
Anyways, I have NO suggestions, because I (obviously) don't actually live in Bognor. But I do have my shiny, new mini-laptop, which can cope with wifi, and the battery lasts a while, and I can use pen and paper if necessary. I can also borrow an extension cable socket thing from one of my housemates to provide more outlets if required.

Change of circumstances - I'm no longer available tomorrow due to a sudden family illness. If you all do go ahead, good luck and may the word fairy be bountiful.
Cheers
