Hey!
I'm an Adventure genre novelist in Central Asia. I'm looking for anyone near the +0600 time zone who would want to face off against me in a daily word count. This is my first time on NaNoWriMo, so I'm not the most experienced at this. But I must warn you, my writing speed can rocket upwards once I've had enough chai. :D
Anyone nearby up for the challenge?

I see you've already made it to 2k+. Hahah, I will challenge you nonetheless, I don't care how much is your word count as long as I have made it to 50k.
My timezone is gmt +04..is that good enough?
Either way, I'll add you as a buddy. Hopefully, your enthusiasm will motivate me to write more.

I was thinking to join you till I saw your word count...I might do it anyway though, just to motivate me - though I doubt I shall beat you. But I am +5.45 GMT .... odd as that sounds, it is correct for Nepal.

So I guess it is true--a little motivation helps :)
Well, I was truly honestly going to write tonight anyway, but I did push on a little further because of your challenge.
Thank you for that...watch you beat me tomorrow!

Alrighty, glad to see my challenge was taken seriously. I know I'm probably going to burn out at this rate, but I haven't written for a while, and this is just too much fun to resist. Anyways, my Day 2 word count stands. Challengers?

Well, I don't know if I can enter this word war or not.....I am actually using NaNoWriMo to motivate me to finish up a historical fiction novel I started over 3 years ago. So my word count is 23,804....but most of it happened a long time ago. But I have written about 3000 words since starting (and I started a day late), so that's good.

Well, if you're just competing for a daily word count, then I suppose we could still match up in rate of increase. Having a 20,000 word head start does seem a bit daunting. Definitely gives you a psychological boost here.
----------I suggest to even out the playing field here, you could bake a triple batch of chocolate chip cookies and mail them to the other competitors. That seems like a fair trade. :D

I think you are going to catch up to me at the rate you are going! I have been doing well to average 1,000 words a day, but I've been tooooooo busy lately. I'm hoping to do better at carving out time next week. We are really only talking about 1-2 hours per day.
P.S. We'll see about the cookies.
