I had only got about 1,000 words into my novel, which is allegedly set in a small village in Fife, when giant pandas unexpectedly appeared in it.
This started me thinking about regional challenges/dares. Wasn't there something we had to work into all our novels last time? I had a feeling it might have had something to do with monkeys, but maybe I've just got animals on the brain...

Last year it was whisky. I think there was a suggestion this year that it's Irn Bru. But not mixed with whisky....
I don't think I could work pandas into my story

Giant Pandas?
Well it's a long month, I'll see what I can do.
It's usually my brother who works animals into his stories.
Well okay.

Speaking of challenges, it's only two days in and I've managed both whiskey and irn bru. The latter isn't explicitly named, of course:
"He sipped at a bottle of fizzy orange liquid, hoping the powerful beverage would see him through the night."
Hope everyone is doing well :)
