It actually deals with the former ML Jamie and the fact that she brought a purple pumpkin filled with candy to the write-ins.... I don't know the full story behind it or if Tiff will be bringing one this year... but I suggest going to the write-ins and socials! They're always very fun!

2006 Legacy of the Blade (17k), 2007 When a Thousand Petals Fall (75k), 2008 All in the Family (82k), 2009? All in the Family (Part Two)
Basically.... One year I'd been looking for something that'd make it easy to spot me when people came for events, and I had this plastic purple pumpkin sitting around. I tossed some candy in that, and it just sorta stuck. I'm sure Tiffany will come up with something cool eventually too. :)

Unless absolutely necessary, make characters talk at cross-purposes. How many of us actually listen to other people? We don't. We're always thinking about what to say next, when they shut up.
Jamie, where are you? This is Micki from last year's Nano. I totally worked the purple pumpkin into my story. (Think John Cusack in Say Anything as the key master.) Not that I need the candy, but I miss not seeing the purple pumpkin.
