One year I'd been looking for something that'd make it easy to spot me when people came for events, and I had this plastic purple pumpkin sitting around. I tossed some candy in that, and it just sorta stuck. I totally worked the purple pumpkin into my story. (Think John Cusack in Say Anything as the key master.)
