I'm up at Muldoon's Coffee House, the new place in Culpepper, working on my late kick start, if anyone wants to pop by! I'll probably be up here a few hours.

Congrats! I stayed up last night until countdown and was able to get 2353 words in about 3 hours (with a few breaks here and there). I'm going to continue on it today and see if I can get to 5000 words. Though I have to admit, my grammar feels so childish in my writing that it's really kind of making me sick. Anyone else having the same problem or am I all alone? haha.

Oh, I feel the same way too! I have to keep reminding myself to gag my inner editor while working because I keep rethinking sentence structure and grammar.

I was at Muldoon's around one o'clock today! It would actually be a wonderful place to write if I wasn't confined to my iMac.
How do you recognize fellow NaNo's out and about BCS? Do we have badges or something?

Oh, I wish I'd know. I didn't leave until around 2. I was sitting in the back on the big round chair. No badges or anything...I think usually if we have a get together we'll announce what we are wearing or something like that. Sometimes people will make signs too :)

I was orignally was to be out of town visiting my folks, but they were sick and said not to come.

Did two hours at midnight and another two after the Texans game. Day 1 total: 4,328. My goal from this point out is at least 1,700 per day during the week and no fewer than 2,000 per day on the weekends.
Wrote during my lunch break today and brought the total up to 5,120. Still need to hit 6,028 by the end of today to stay on target.

Sounds like you are off to a great start and have good goals! I added another 1494 in tonight's session. I can't really write at work since my lunch breaks are usually occupied as well (and don't want to have to transport the file between comps), so I have to do most of mine at night during the week. Trying to get the average during the week, then on weekend's I'll push to do more. I technically wrote more than that, but I didn't want to count my language notes as part of the overall count ;-)

I live close enough to work that I can go home and write. Barely hit my goal last night since it was a softball night. Wednesdays are what I'm really worried about. I record a podcast with my friend on those nights and on the 11th I have a writers meeting and the podcast. May have to skip the meeting, but I'd rather go.
That's why I set the goals where I did. It gets me a little bit ahead for those weeknights when I have stuff to do. And in all honesty, I'm disappointed if all I do for the day is the goal. I'd love to do an even 2K per day, but my sked doesn't support it.
