The short answer is because Chris Baty hates me.
The longer is that I had to start a new account because I can't access the asterisk account. I had problems logging in and requested a new password--which is usually emailed right away--but the system's so clogged right now that it never came. I'm sure it'll come through eventually, but I'm already down the novelling road, and there's no looking back!
