Okay, so I do not remember what we decided at all in the chatroom last night. What I do know is:

When: Monday, weekly
Time: from 2:30-3ish until around 5:45pm
Where: On campus at IUPUI

We're either going to meet on the second floor of the Campus Center over across from the Caribou Coffee and the Sub place where the plugs are(I'll bring a power strip) OR in a computer lab in ET. I have no preferences but since I can't remember the room number for that lab(sooo should've written it down) I would say we should meet in CE for this week at least and decide future meeting spots then.

If Phys or anyone else remembers and let's me know though the above suggestion can be nullified. If there are no new posts in this thread before midnight tonight assume that I'll be in CE. I have a black laptop with a white Nano sticker on the back and a bright yellow Write In sign from last year. It will be displayed prominently.

I have a laptop, so I can meet wherever. ET is closer to my class at 6, but if we're in CE I could get a smoothie from Caribou Coffee, so it's win/win in my opinion. :)

The lab I had talked about is one that I manage for work. If everyone has laptops, the CE location works much better in multiple ways, seeing as it has coffee close by and it isn't where I work (so nobody will be walking in asking me to do stuff).
I vote CE.

CE it is then. We must all conspire to hide Phys from his coworkers. <_<

I'll be there, but I'll be without laptop. I love the feel of paper (Translation: I'm too broke for a laptop).

If anyone can commit to certain hours you'll be there, we'll be happy to add this to the calendar so others can find you. It doesn't have to be anything too formal, just certain hours and a NaNo name, so that shy members know what to expect.

Mondays are out for me, or I'd stop by and say hello. Good luck crankin' out the words.

I will absolutely be here every Monday from 3-5pm at least. Feel free to put my name(Arilan or Sarah) on it. I'm more than happy to handle the awkward "Are you from Nano?" "Yes, are you?" conversations.

Great! I added it through Monday the 23rd. We'll tweak it around Thanksgiving if we need to.

I have a break from 4:15 to 6, so I will try to be there around 4:30ish next week. I didn't see the memo today so I hung out in the food court of the CE. If only I'd know you guys were there! I'll look for you next week :)

Oh, are y'all planning on meeting Wednesdays too, or just Mondays?

Aw, sorry we missed you! Just one floor apart too. So close, and yet so far.

Atm we're just meeting on Mondays, but I'm open to suggestions. I can meet sometimes on Wednesday(depending on if I have work after class) but it would be earlier. Like 12-ish and only for an hour or two.

Okay, so since the pic totally warps the screen, here's the url. A pretty, pretty picture of us pretty geeky IUPUI Write In-ers from week one. (Except for me, since I was busy, well, TAKING the picture. Those are my earbuds though. *shrug*)

I'm really nervous about showing up, seeing as how this is my first time doing NaNoWriMo and this would be my first Write In. However, since I attend IUPUI, it would almost a sin for me not to come! I won't show up until around 4:30 (if I can manage to catch the bus) since I have class from 3:00 - 4:15. But I hope to come and get a delicious pom-a-mango smoothie while I'm at it from Caribou Coffee.

I'll probably be the awkward (short) girl in all black sweats since I'm a lazy bum on my class days and don't feel like dressing up or anything. I'm lazy like that.

Wow, I know. The stress, right? I swear, I still remember my first Write In/Kick off party. I drove all the way there(40 minutes from my house) and sat in my car arguing with myself about if I really REALLY wanted to go in there with those people. I had done Nano just fine the year before without anyone else(I hadn't even signed up for the website that first year).

But let me promise you some things,

1) We are not scary. I've met scary people and we are not them.
2) I've spent most of my life accidentally creating awkward situations. I'm very good at getting out of them. If you picture walking up to our group and having everyone turn to stare and having nothing to say, never fear. I will greet you in what is likely to be an overly enthusiastic way and find you a chair. You will then be politely and cheerfully asked how your word count is going and what type of genre you're writing.

I Arilan/Sarah do solemnly swear to absorb all the awkwardness of meeting a new group of people and, if the situation requires, will then proceed to put my foot in my mouth or otherwise embarrass myself until we're all safely laughing and no one's afraid of looking stupid anymore because y'all can't possibly look any more stupid than me. ;D I have high goals for myself, I know.

So please come. We really do what to have everyone there that wants to, even a little bit, in the far recesses of your heart, show up. We love you.... and there might be candy. <_<

I'm going to try to make it to the Monday IUPUI Write-Ins! I work at IUPUI, and actually I've taken all the Mondays in November off in case I need the time to write anyway.

I hope someone has a sign or some way I can recognize other Wrimos!

See you there...

Chris

Looks like fun! I have hardly been on campus in years, but I'm going to try and get some time off work and make it to one of these.

I have:

1. Night class on Monday
2. An abiding love of Caribou Coffee
3. A shiny new laptop that likes to get out of the house

So I should try to make it one of these. It won't be this week because I have a test on Monday night, and our group paper is due on the 16th... But surely I can make it one of these days!

In the meantime, have a chai tea latte for me! ^_^

Just wanted to say I had a lot of fun meeting everyone who showed up yesterday afternoon! I got almost 1000 words written, despite distractions (what happens at the write-in stays at the write-in!) and had fun with the word war... If NaNo's month deadline is fuel to inspire a novel, a 5 minute word war is a shot in the arm to come up with inspiration FAST!

I've also realized that my novels are dull and dry compared to many of the other wrimos in the area. Oh my.

Anyway, I'll be back next Monday, if not for wordcount, then for inspiration and moral support!

Mondays are really tough for me, but I'm hoping to drop in at least once this month. Crossing my fingers for next week.

I had a blast yesterday at the write-in! It was great to put some faces with the names. I only got 457 written while I was there :( But it put me in a writing mood and I got another 1457 (coincidence?) in about 45 minutes as soon as I got home. So it definitely helped.

See you guys next week! And if anyone is interested in meeting Wednesday evenings at the same place, let me know. I have a break from 4:15 to 6 (ok so really it's more like 4:30 to 5:45, since I need time to walk between classes) and can meet there again on Wednesdays.

"What happens at the write in stays at the write in". Bwahahahaha! Y'all might think he's joking... but he's not! He is so not. These are the most awesomely bizarre write ins I have EVER been to.

Warning: Little to no writing will occur. lol

DL: I'd join you on Wednesdays, but I go up to Starbucks for another write in at that time. I can meet for about a half hour though if you wanna bounce ideas off of each other.

Everyone else: I'm not sorry if I'm part of the reason for the bizarreness. :P Muahahaha.

PS: The orgy is about to throw down, I repeat, the orgy is about to throw down.

Alyssa,

I'm going to head that way after my class ends at 4:15. I always go there anyhow to eat between classes. So, if I see you there then we can bounce ideas off each other and many get a little word warrage in. If I don't see you there, I'll just hopefully get some writing done on my own.

See you in class tomorrow!

Debbie

Dear, sweet Arilan,

I apologize greatly for the lack of squirrel in this orgy. However, just for you, I may put in someone who has a squirrel tail attached to their butt.

Dear Debbie,

I think I just ditched you in class, but I'll be at CE at that time to help you with the adobe and to do a word war.

The write-in was a lot of fun! I was nervous, but everyone was super friendly, and I really appreciated that. Plus, it's nice to know that I'm not the only one crazy enough to actually participate in NaNo. haha I didn't get a lot done at the write-in, but it managed to be a super productive day for me anyways when I went back to my apartment. I'll be there next Monday for sure! Also, I think I could come next Wednesday also since my class ends at 4:15 and it's my last one. Today I just went straight home after I got out of class.

My most dearest and lovely anai,

Feel free to include and exclude the small fluffy animals as you like. So long as you keep coming to the write ins, to give us the excuse to talk about bad, dirty things you can do whatever you darn well please. ;-D

I would resent the fact that I'm the one that starts all the dirty talk... but I can't seem to defend myself. :D

See you guys next week! And I'll read the orgy part out loud if it helps.

Y'all should know that Anai and I managed to get hella writing done yesterday w/out you. Of course, we spent about an hour threatening my little laptop with an evil, fiery death if it didn't remove the mega-virus from its system... and then we went to Pizza Hut. But AFTER that, we got tons done! I ended up writing a solid 2000 words in the IT computer lab in an hour (with my little naughty Netbook waiting in the car. Yes, even though it was cold, I didn't let her come inside to warm up. I was mad at her.) and Anai got around 1K before I left. So it was productive!

See you guys on Monday, and if she's good I'll bring Netty. Oh, how I've missed her -- though she's supposedly virus free now. *crosses fingers*
