Another Idea concurred to me while I was loooknig at the schedule of events: I'm a late night writer. Sometimes my best writing comes at 1 am or 2 am, so i was wondering if anyone else is like that, and if maybe we could "organize" some "Late Night Writing Sessions". Anyone . . . anyone?

If you're not writing until 1 AM, cafe coco should be cleared out enough that you can at least get 1 table.
----------Emphasis on *should*. The line today was fantastic.

Or maybe a chat room of some kind for word wars, support, etc? I'm often writing at that hour, but I'm pretty well tucked into my nest by then.

I write late too, but from the comfort of my desk with a nice glass of scotch or sprite zero slowly warming up (and/or losing its fizzy) next to my keyboard. Maybe a chat room thing, but that might just be a bit too distracting?

I belong to an online thing where the mods create AIM chatrooms that anyone who knows the name can join. Then they sprint for 20 on, 10 off, so you aren't allowed to talk in the rooms for a timed 20 minutes, and when that time is over, the mod calls it, the AIM buddychat flashes, and people flood back into the chatroom for 10 minutes of release before starting the process again. Something like that could work, but I'm technologically impaired and am just surprised that I manage to log onto AIM and find the buddychat.

Sometimes I head to Waffle House in the middle of the night to write but most of the time, I am firmly anchored to my desk.
I keep my Yahoo messenger up and my status lets people know whether or not I can chat. I have a lot of insomniacs on my list and they know I write. I will periodically give myself breaks to chat and refresh myself. I like the idea of the AIM chat room..

Actually, the AIM chatroom came to mind to me as well. I'm a night owl (I haven't gone to bed yet, lol) and I'd be open to something like that. If I am not at work, I'm tucked away in my house at this hour, so meeting somewhere is something I wouldn't be too keen on doing. But a chat room would rock!!

I'm with most everyone else who has commented--I write late at night (usually till midnight, at least), but I'm comfy at home in my PJs by then. I do keep Y!M open most of the time, though, and sometimes a writer's chat room for wars/sprints, etc. If someone starts up a chat event, I'd be up for it.

Alas, with work, I can't do really late nights during the week, but a chat room does sound good in case of insomnia, or even on weekends!
