Hi,
Okay, here's number one. If you want to see other designers tear it apart, I've posted it on my cover blog.
Tricialee/Solita's book was a real challenge for me as I am not working with stock imagery and couldn't find any female wrestler images to my liking! I wanted the book to be somewhat effeminate though without being clichéd, and still be sort of serious as the protagonist deals with some weighty issues throughout her journey. I'm still not quite happy with the type treatment, so perhaps I'll come back and revisit it. Tricialee I hope you like it and good luck on your novel!

First comment! It was strange I came here to see if the first one was up and it wasn't. But it popped up after I looked at one of the threads and then backed out.
I like the splash of color!

WOW!!
Thank you so much!!! I'm floored by this, being picked on the first day, holy crapola. I like the cover a lot -- it's got the classic wrestling pose yet it's got the geometric thing with it too. And I am in love with the typography, haha, gritty and noticeable! I understand how it was difficult to find the right female wrestler pictures... it's a testament to what I'm talking about in my novel, lol!
Thank you again, I'm seriously in a state of "EEEE." :D Good luck to everyone writing Nano!! Lots of hugs and love! I'm going to write steadily every day to the end!

Okay, I take back my previous, somewhat "mediocre" comment. It's actually fantastic. Now I've stared at it for a while, you've done a damn good job there. Very well done!

I've got to admit, when I first looked at it I could only think "What the heck?" but the more I look at it, the more I like it. If it was turned cover side out on the book shelf I would definitely stop, stare, and pick it up to try and figure out what it was about. Since that's what a cover is for, wonderful job!

Wow. LOVE the how the picture fades into the diamond shapes and what little color there is kind of draws your eye to it. All in all, very interesting.
----------"What are you doing here? I thought I killed you yesterday!" grumbled Albi quite racistly.

Interesting...but I wonder about the choice of male wrestlers when the book's about a female one.

I know those are just old school wrestler's shoes, but something about those flats and the shape and bend of the leg (of the guy who is being slammed), is feminine. If I hadn't paid attention to the torso that was connected I would have totally been fooled into thinking that was a woman.
I especially like the border; it makes it feel like I'm looking at an odd postage stamp.
I like it, and I'm completely jealous already! Too bad for me considering there are another 30 designs to go!
