People should describe their novels with the sentence "Like Twilight but..."

For example:

My novel is like Twilight, but with gay love, time travel, and werewolves.

Like Twilight but with airships, magical haze, and enough character stereotypes to make even the CW go WHOA.

like twilight, but without vampires, werewolves, teenagers, and pedophilic stalkers.

It took me fifteen years to discover I had no talent for writing, but I couldn't give it up because by that time I was too famous.

My novel is like Twilight except replacing all the psychopathic stalking by sparkly vampires with attacks by mindless zombies.

My novel is like Twilight, but without all the adverbs.

Also...

My novel is like Twilight, but the identity crises happen to humans who stay human.

My novel is like Twilight, but the inciting moment involves a thong (as in panties) instead of a move to Washington.

My novel is like Twilight, except the main characters are not werewolves or vampires (the immortal doesn't count), there are ghosts, and no one sets foot in Washington or overseas.

Like Twilight but...

Most of the scenes are in the daytime or night. Not during twilight at all. ;)

My novel is like Twilight but it doesn't have a bad plot, vampires, horrible actors, or creepy glittering men.

My novel is like Twilight, but with potatoes, guns, real vampires, and a clever, identifiable plot line lacking in sparkles.

My novel is like Twilight but with gypsies living in post apocalyptic Washington DC and the use of a thesaurus.

Like Twilight, but with a heroine that runs to danger and isn't a complete pansy idiot. Oh, when she does have her kid, she won't need to have a disgusting uterine chew through scene.

My novel is like Twilight but with gay men, bad relationships, Green Day instead of Linkin Park and in a totally different way, riots, hand grenades, lots of kissing, no mythical creatures, a guy nicknamed Whatsername, another guy nicknamed Gloria, drugs, violence, and general mass hysteria. Oh, and don't forget the entire absence of religious influence on my characters, hating on Bush, and strange dream sequences that actually make some sense.

My novel is like Twilight without the anvilicious moral about not having sex. And it has biker gods in it.

My novel is like Twilight except EVERYONE is immortal, no one sparkles, and the only time anyone watches anyone else sleep is seconds before slamming a hammer into the pillow next to the sleeper's head. As it should be.

My novel is just like Twilight: It makes it a point to not suck.
