If you, like me, are counting every I, A, AN, AM, and OF you're doing right by me. Those words, while not counted in Scrabble are counted here. If you find that you're doing some unnecessary contractions, don't, isn't, can't, and the like, please keep in mind, that for the NaNo season it is better to translate them into their separate clauses: do not, is not, can not. Every word counts, as does every cheat. Though these aren't necessarily cheats, per se.
Every day of this month you will see a daily register with your recommended and hopefully completed word count. I will try not to post this until the end of the day, to help persuade you to get the maximum output, but will post as a reminder. Also, please feel free to check in by comment, telling how your word count is coming, any complications you might be having, as well as any advise you may have for the masses.
I myself find that during my breaks I haunt the NaNo pages like a vulture.
Keep up the word count, and good luck to you all!
Lyndsey

I got to 2021 at the Midnight Write last night and added another 2040 at the write-in this afternoon. I'm hoping to pass 5K this evening--moving into Day 3 Land.

I'm at 5241 words right now!
I got sick yesterday, so I had to cancel all my plans for today.
Which means I got to write a lot, haha.

I've got about 5000 words handwritten today! I got to sit in the truck while they worked on it all day and lucky me, I had my notebook. :-) Now to type them all in and actually get it on here...

Thanks to Write or Die I have managed 3224! That's double what I needed for today, and I'm very excited!
We had some fantastic people online tonight to help motivate each other (in the Virtual Write In) and managed to bang out phantasm!
I can't wait for next write in! I may have to take up another day, in order to make my word count. There was something completely theraputic about tonight!

I managed to make it to 1772, alot of its thanks to the virtual write in. As well as encouragement from Lyndsey and Surria. :)
Im struggling but pushing through. It seems alot of what im getting is dialogue, so WHEN i get to 50k i'll have alot of descriptions and such to add in. So weird how when i write normally its like 0 dialogue and now i cant get anything but that... lol

Thats because your internal editor is on hyperdrive. I've had that issue as well. In fact, a lot of my story right now is dialogue. I find that if I don't say what they're doing when they're saying it, I lose a lot of quality in later drafts. Especially because I usually can't remember what I was meaning in the first place. If you can try and describe the person's mannerisms. Don't worry about it sounding kitschy, it probably will until you revise, but at least you'll have some idea of what you were picturing when you go back later.
You're doing awesome Drey! I'm so proud. Sniff sniff. So proud.

At 1750 I'm calling it a night. Developed the two major characters, their commanding officer and setting the scene. Tomorrow I'll work on introducing them to each other, and then the, 'pitch'.

Good job, everyone! Our word count/Wrimo is incredibly high! (Not like... 10K high or anything, but definitely showing that as a group we're on track to hit 50K.) I'm going back into my story for one last time before I call it a night--this will be my third writing session since midnight. I love my story!

After putting my daughter to bed and sneaking off with headphones into the bedroom while my husband watched TV, I managed to get to 1690 words. I honestly wasn't sure I'd make it, but I'm glad I did! I have a solid start to a story that is developing as I type and I'm having fun with it, too.
I'm always amazed when I see people listing their words counts in the thousands. My best writing day for Nano was last year with just over 5000 words, I had to push that to get to the 50,000. I feel much more comfortable keeping a steady pace of 1500 to 2000 words a day. Though I wouldn't sniff at having a couple good 3000 word days if inspiration strikes!

If I'm being totally honest Carissa, the only reason I ever get more than a few hundred words a day is by challenging myself to word wars. Its the only way I can hold myself accountable, it seems. Besides, I seem to come up with some pretty creative (and not good) things when I'm speed writing.
