So how are you doing? What's your word count? Are you going fast or slow? Are you worried about that? Just a general progress report.

Currently I'm at 1110 words, and I think I'm going at a fairly steady pace. So far there hasn't been much in the way of story or plot problems.

Only got as far as 360 roughly. Will post later. I'm trying to query at the same time and have to get tone page synopsis working.

I've been working at it off and on since around two or three PM today and managed 700 words so far. I was hoping to type around the 1,700 word mark... I still have a bit of time to spare, so I hope I can make my goal for today. xP

Edit: Calling it a night. I have 870 words so far; although, NaNo's meter is only counting 869. Tomorrow I'll write more! I have several hours I can put towards NaNo, so I hope can catch up with the word count.

I wrote for about 2 hours last night and then wrote like crazy today and I've managed 2,351 words at this point. Whewwww!

I'm going to try to get to the write-in on Thursday... Cross your fingers for me!

I just hit 2,800 words and am going to try and keep writing so I have a buffer in case I miss a day or two due to writer's block. Ugh.
I hope it goes well for all of you!

Last night I wrote about 1,600 I think. little over two pages on my typewriter. For some reason I don;t have the most precise word counter :/

Got a tiny bit more done this morning, so at around 1,900. Would love to get back into it tonight but have job training in the am so calling it a night.

I'm making more progress than I'd hoped for. With last night's after midnight spree, and procrastinating on homework to write instead, I've racked up 2700 words... At least, so my word counter says. Hopefully I can keep up this rate of work. Although I somehow don't think that's likely...

Almost 3000 yesterday, a little after midnight, but mostly during the day. Not the 5000 I aimed for, but I'm happy nonetheless. I probably won't get much done today until after my wife's gone to work and the kids are in bed, but then I'll hammer away :) It's been interesting how I thought I was roughly phasing to get 2000 words from each scene, but it's working out to be less than that so far, however I'm realizing I need to insert more scenes as I go to make things flow correctly. Hopefully it will balance out in the end!

I'm at 6,464 words so far, which is good, except now I find myself kinda taking my outline and mixing up most of it and just doing things in a more random order. So I feel like my story is going to get used up soon. That's a problem I have in all of my stories...

I wrote 3000 words yesterday, getting another fast start out of the gate. I'm going to try to get in another 2000 words tonight. Not sure how long I'll be able to keep up this pace with school, but that's why I'm trying to get in a cushion while I can.

I've got a fairly loose outline that I'm following, but it's taking me longer to get through certain points than I thought it would. I keep focusing more on smaller details that I didn't think I'd be paying much attention to when I was making the outline... but hey, if it's helping my word count then so much the better!

Kinda shocked I just banged out 3,080(by my calculations, erring on the side of caution) so I'm up to 4,687 and only six pages. Was actually amusing, the first page I was working on I got so excited I didn't notice the page was out till i finished the last line on the very edge. Good thing I number the pages at the top xD

I don't know about you guys but I find that the random unplanned details often turn out better than those that are planned, then again maybe I've already lost my sanity. I guess I'll know for sure if I decide to keep writing tonight since I might start work tomorow :/

I have not yet begun to write. Got distracted by a late night halloween party and have been having too much fun since. But I'll catch up.

(Unless I decide to head to my favorite southern California beach instead.)

I...am so behind. @_@ I'm writing more than I ever have before, I think (excluding essays), but I keep getting distracted or falling asleep. I only have one class tomorrow, so I'm going to try and do some epic writing tonight and tomorrow to try and catch up (and, hopefully, work up a teensie-weensie buffer).

I was really worried about not having enough events in my story to spread over three weeks, but as I add little happenings and sections to connect the major events, I'm finding that I'm actually going slower (plotwise) than I thought I would go. Has this happened to anyone else? It's kind of a mixed blessing, because I get bored more often.

Someone else mentioned it above, sealeereon, and I think it's pretty common. I'm hoping it will happen to me! :) I think those details that pop up as you're writing are the parts that make the story alive and compelling instead of just a block of text.

As far as getting bored goes, this bit of advice doesn't apply unless you plan on sharing your accomplishment at the end, but there's an old adage: If it bores the writer to write it, it bores the reader to read it. ;) Or perhaps even better: since you're doing this for fun, don't do anything that isn't fun!

My writing schedule is really messed up this year. First came Halloween and then I lost another 48 hours to the election. But at least all but one of the guys I backed won. Now I may have to go to southern California for a couple of weeks to meet with a former editor of mine.

Oh, well. I'll pull through somehow.

OMG!!!

Please, can someone explin to me why absolutely nothing happens... That is until the moment I sit down to write? The kitten is fighting with the old cat and the slipper-dog (pomeranian). the phone rings off the hook. (with no way to turn the ringer off) People stop by, because I won't answer my cell phone... Sooo, I've written a grand total of 883 words today. (and I"ve been attempting to write since about 11:30 this morning.)

NaNo..... TAKE ME AWAY!!!!!!

Hahaha, just kidding. Put a sign on your door that says, "CAN'T TALK, NANOING." Actually, also put a "CAN'T PLAY, NANOING" sign on the older pets, too.

Well, I just started today & I'm at 770 words. Pumped out most of it this morning when I woke up, haha. I work really well at that time, surprisingly; less distractions, I'm guessing. As this is my first year, I have no clue how it's going to go!

I'm keeping up and beyond, thank goodness. I'm more than a 5th of the way through to winning this year, but my story hasn't even reached the meat yet. Still setting up to the first door of no return. I think there will be a lot of trimming in December. (oyk! Was that a pun?)

Well, I'm at pretty darn close to 20,000 right now. Since I'm doing connected shorts, sort of, I wasn't expecting to get most of my words for another several sections yet. Has anyone had a random character appear that you really like and who changed how you're viewing your story, and then suddenly, after you realize how he/she fits and that you really like them, it suddenly occurs to you that they have to die for the story to work? (Maybe this is just me because of the whole tackle a massive fanfic cause I'm out of other ideas thing) I had a character randomly show up in the first 5-10k words and suddenly I'm focusing in on his family instead of on the pairings I was planning to focus on. *Sighs* at least most of the characters are somehow related to his family.

I've managed to get at least the daily quota every day, so I've been keeping up fairly well. It's usually a mad scramble between ten o clock and midnight, but it works fairly well. I'm at about 12k words, but I think I'm just barely about to get into the more in depth sections of the story. Hopefully I'll do better work on it than I have on the background info, which has several gaping holes in it at the moment. Leaving it open now though means I can go back later and fill it in. When I make a random reference to a past event, I may as well write it. Even if I just edit it out later, at least I know how it actually went.

Just a little shy of 7k. Struggled a bit tonight but pleasantly surprised to come up with 2,100 though i had no intention of staying up this late.... Tomorrow should be fun seeing as I need to play catchup for the past week cause at the pace I'm going I'm not going to finish on time.

I'm at 3,500 words... That was only after two hours of writing or so, so I think that was rather good. After I build my trebuchet for physics today I'm gonna write more. :) Although I suppose I have it easy cause I'm kinda a rebel... I'm writing somewhat of an autobiography, but fiction does come in because what I don't remember I get to make up. :) This should be fun.

Well, now I'm at 12212, however I think I'm going to need to throw in a LOT more stuff so my climax doesn't pop up in the second. In the very least now I have my main character in, so the action is actually delved into instead of just writing, they went to point b from a and they were shot at.
However I need to stop my climax from rolling in...
