Maybe this was leftover from a few years back when I actually DID live north of the river briefly, but...I'm a south of the river girl and proud!! And I have only just joined this 'region'. Damn!

It's a bit sad to see that we don't have more action in here, but at least there are a few threads :D

How is everyone?

How is your writing coming??

I'm actually at work now which sux as I'd rather be at home writing, but in a way it's probably better I get to build up my anticipation while I'm away from the story so I can write like mad when I get back to it!

Yes! Let's liven this place up a little!

I'm off to a really rough start....But…Er…I have hope?...

It’s my own fault for not having thought about my Nano at all and subsequently now find myself battling with six character who all want to be the main character >_>

It would be great to see this place more active! :)

I am actually going better than I expected, and I seem to be a bit ahead of schedule too. I feel like I am on a bit of a roll, which is something which doesn't often happen to me so it's all good. I'll get as far ahead as I can now so I don't have to worry in a couple of weeks when it is exams time.

Hope everyone else is going well!

Mine little tale is off to a nice start, but I need to hop to and just kill that word count. Competing with a very good friend form the north and trying to beat her for the second year in a row.

Am a little concerned that It may turn into a children's story, but hopefully a nice big gory fight could change that.

I think I'm stuffed, lol. Seems it's physically impossible for me to write without revising/obsessing about each word. Also, why am I writing science fiction which I haven't attempted to do since I was about 14 years old? :P

Oh dear. That's the problem with CARING what you're writing, though :D NaNo is NOT the thing for a perfectionist who can't put aside that perfectionism for at least 30 days. :)

I know how it is though, I'm a perfectionist myself. But NaNo is my time to just spew everything out and then I can go back to polish up later on. The first time I did it I found it truly a liberating experience, not caring about every word as you say you're doing ;)

Also, re: that possible children's story - I did a story and its sequel in NaNo the last 2 years, and it was verging on a children's story too, except that there were quite a few massacres LOL. All the characters were animals.

At 4013 words I'm slightly behind schedule, but am hoping to fix that when my husband is off tutoring tonight and the kids are in bed. We've promised ourselves lots of nano time on the weekend as well, but as November is a birthday heavy month for us, we're worried about falling too far behind and giving up.

At least we do spur each other on though.

The Nano story I planned to write and the one I'm actually working on are two different things. I was going to write the novel version of a short story I wrote years ago about an Hermaphodite warrior in Ancient Greece, but instead am writing about the devastation a woman goes through when she wakes up in hospital only to find that her whole life has changed. I keep wanting to drop this one as it's quite painful, but I know I have to do it and it might as well be now.

Keep going all.

Wow, that sounds interesting, I can imagine it would be rather heartrending though!

Nothing quite like a trip to the dentist to put a big gap in the day. I was aiming to get to 6k min today but I suppose I still have a few hours to muddle on.

Aim for day four will be to reach 25k total. It's a stretch now but I think i can do it.

In the inspirational words of the little engine that could... I think I can, I think I can.
