Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know how many floors Touro Hospital has? I think it has three floors, but I can not find out if I am correct or not
from the hospital's web site. I can not remember and since I have, since Katrina, always been "delivered" to the East Jefferson Hospital's Emergency Room, I am not really sure anymore how many floors Touro has in it. I know it is one of the few hospitals left in New Orleans besides Ochsner Hospital that actually still has an emergency room and is still open.

Thank you,
Mortica

More than 3...my friend was on 9. I think 10 floors. I just confirmed this with a friend that works on the 10th floor.

Hi - My novel has a scene in the Touro Hospital. Are you going there for your health or are you writing about it??

Many of the scenes in my novel are set in Touro Hospital. I haven't stayed there since I was about eight-years-old. My main character was originally hurt in the French Quarter, and I think Touro is the closest hospital to the Quarter after Katrina for
nonfatal emergencies. I live in Metairie and work in Midcity New Orleans by City Park. I honestly never go anywhere near Touro Hospital during my regular weekly routine.

I tried to find out how many stories the building was from the website, but I didn't find physical descriptions with enough detail. During the rewrite, I will need to drive there one weekend and find out the exact details. I want accurate details in my novel since the settings arebased on real areas in New Orleans.

Tulane Hospital and Clinic in the CBD has a functiokning emergency room, so that would be closer to the Quarter, just FYI. University Hospital is also open but I don't know if they have an ER. You'd have to call them.

But if your character has Tenet healthcare he would probably go to Touro anyway -- it is a Tenet hospital. Tulane is not.
