Hi, all.

Last year someone would start one of these each day, to moan or celebrate how we're doing. I don't remember what we called them, so I picked this for today.

After near panic right up until last night, I actually had a decent writing day. 2563, so I have a little cushion moving into Monday. I did about half of a short story, then got back to the novel. So at this point I'm still a NaNo Rebel.

I had a decent day word-count-wise. The writing sucks so far, but I'm more concerned about spewing out the plot at this point - will pretty it up in re-write, heh.

I've had a good two writing days already, as Laos at +7 GMT is a good deal ahead of the rest of the world. So far, about 13,000 words, though I haven't updated my word count as I plan to attend the Messenger write in organized by the Thailand group. I'm hoping that this writing enthusiasm bodes well for the rest of the month, as I have a labor-intensive home office visit coming up as well as a whole bunch of other work-related things.

Good luck to everyone else!

Over 4000, which I thought was good, so I am happy as long as I don't go back and read what I have written.

Over 3,400, which was fine considering that everybody in my family seemed to need to call me and talk for a while, so my train of thought got derailed late in the day.

Of course what I wrote was garbage but it's a start.

Over 4000, so it was a pretty good day, even with the computer acting up and the cats acting out. If I continue at this rate, I might actually make my goal of finishing the rough draft of the entire novel this month.

I set a goal of 3,000 words and did a little over 6,000, which surprised me. So it was a very good day.The first chapter is done, and I'm about 80% of the way through the second.

I set out to write as many words as I could the first day, and managed 5039. So now I've set 5000 words a day as my goal, even though I know I won't reach it every day - too many other demands on my time. But I would love to finish two novel drafts this month - or at least get a chance to start the second one.

I see some of you did even better - way to go geezers!!

3,641 in two days, so I'm a bit ahead of schedule. I need to get over the mindset of wanting it to be perfect and just get words down on the page and keep the story going.

Celebrate:
I'm happy with my word count so far, and am writing as much as I can in the first few days so that I'll feel optimistic about finishing.

Kvetch:
My mouse is acting up in Word.
I have no more outline prepared, so I'm just winging it from this point on.

Wooooo-hooooo, I'm celebrating!!!

I wrote over 10K words in one day and I feel great! Now, I'm on my weekday schedule of working nine hours a day and writing for possible three hours. Oh well, I have a little word-count cushion that I can reinflate this upcoming weekend.

Kvetch. I slept most of today because it was too cold to sleep last night. And I have jury duty tomorrow. I may just stay up and go to it. Otherwise I'll be in deep, deep sleep when my alarm goes off, and I'll oversleep and get into trouble with the authorities. I don't need that on top of everything else I'm dealing with. Why do they have to call me for jury duty in November?
