I thought it might be handy to have a thread where people can request and offer some NaNoWriMo related 'how to' posts. As I get asked questions, I'll try to address some of them there. I'll also try to keep an index here of what 'how to's have been asked and answered.

After the time changed on Sunday, we are in the wrong time zone. You will need to reset your time zone, so you won't get locked out at 11pm on November 30 as you are scrambling to validate your novel!
To reset your time zone.
1. Select the My NaNoWriMo tab and click Edit User Settings.
2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page until you see the "Locale Settings" area.
3. From the list, select the time zone that is equivalent to -0800.
4. Scroll all the way to the bottom and click Submit.
You're done!

Just a heads up - not everyone may need to do this. I know my time has been fine since the time change, though i'm not 1005 sure if that's because I was in the wrong time sone to begin with (I didn't check the website right at midnight to see if it'd let me insert a word count or not), or if it's just, oddly, done it for me automatically (which it doesn't usually do)
----------I DO seem to recall that my time was correct prior to the change, though, so I'm a bit puzzled, lol

I'm quite glad for the reminder because mine did have to be reset. This year I've got a sneaking suspicion that I'll need every hour I can get :D
