Hello everyone :)
I just realised it was November, and that means NaNoWriMo! I particpated quite a few years ago in the very early years when I was studying Creative Writing at Murdoch, but since then had been too busy to make the time. This year I've changed career to return to my writing roots, leaving I.T. to be an independent magazine publisher and writer, so working on NaNoWriMo is much more doable, and exciting too!
I have a lot of projects I could work on, but I've decided to be a bit of a NaNo Rebel and go for non-fiction, writing a book I've had in mind for a long time. My goal is to write towards it every day and get the content out of my brain, and by the end of the month be left with a first draft / outline. This month is going to be big as I need to get two magazines out too, but I would say there will be some cross over there, which is good as I need to stop procrastinating and get writing :)
I live and work in Gosnells, and it'd be good motivation to meet up with others!
Cheers,
Kate

Hi Kate, nice to meet you :) I only just realised I was in the wrong 'region', even if it's kinda silly to have 2 different Perth regions anyway. :P But I'm here now too!
I've done NaNo most years since 2002, missing just one year in that time. I love NaNo and am just as motivated this time around, though i admit I kinda miss last year's story (which was a sequel to the year before's story) a bit. :D
Anyway, have you made a start yet?

Late starter - a very late starter - saying hi: Hi! I'm Cassie, and I must be mad trying this in the middle of exams, but I missed NaNoWriMo last year, and I figured I would regret it I didn't try this year. Plus, if I'm going to procrastinate revising, it might as well be constructively :P. Five days behind and hyper excited - let's see how it goes xD.

I assume by exams you mean the dreaded TEE? I did that last year and guess what?? I'm still alive. I commend you for doing NaNo at the same time, it should prove to be a great relaxing exercise for between cram sessions if you structure your time right!!! Best of luck all the same!
I also see you are from Bateman. I'm in the Mount Pleasant/ Brentwood area... I wonder if you go to a school I might know of?

Yup, the TEE. And it's good to see proof of someone surviving the black hole - the thought of Leavers is the only thing keeping me going at the moment. :P Time structure has never - ever - been my forte, but maybe this'll pull me into line; I can hold my novel ransom until I've done at least three hours of P&L and two of Jap. Thanks for the luck!
I go to Leeming, so I'm not sure if you'd know it if you live in Brentwood. I'm not sure how well we're known apart from by our rivals.
