I am happy to report what I believe to be record turnout for a Christchurch meetup. I counted 22 people yesterday which was double the prior record I've been a part of. (19 of whom are visible in the photos kindly provided by surrealix on last weeks post.)
And so we progress to thoughts of our second meetup. The consensus was that Sunday afternoons are good for people and so we'll be meeting from 2pm again. Chances are very good that I'll be there even earlier yet again as it's either that or go home and write between Church and meetup.

I'm going to be trying to get a graph post up later today. Basically, anyone that replies to the thread will have their daily wordcount show up on a graph as the month goes by (updates are supposed to be every 15 minutes but I doubt it will be that quick until the website load decreases.)

For those of you unsure how to use the search function to find out how you're doing compared to the rest of Christchurch... this lnk should take you to a page showing the (as I type) 49 people that have identified themselves as being located in Christchurch (At least two of whom are not in NZ). Alternately, this link should show you a list of the people that have New Zealand set as their home region. (If you can't find yourself on that list go here and set NZ as home.)

After almost beating my previous best for a first day yesterday I'm now going to load up OpenOffice and see if I can improve even more...

ML duties again...
I may need to be more disciplined about writing every day this year. 10,000 word days aren't a good idea.

I will definately be there unless I get sick or something. I enjoyed it a lot and it seems like it would be a good break from the crazy amount of writing that I seem to be wanting to do. Even if I do intend to actually write this time.

I should be able to attend again this time, if I can convince hubby to look after the raggermuffins... maybe I should bribe him with cookies.

I didn't make it to yesterday's, but hopefully I'll be there next Sunday. I've never been to a meet up, so be nice to me!

Oooh, I lead youth group next Sunday and we finish at two, so if I do get there I'll be late. I hope I can be there again.

Last time I did this, I had no idea what an incentive others' wordcounts could be! Screw sixth, I want to be FIRST. D<

At this very moment I am plotting weasely, conniving ways to escape from work to attend. If I can't make it, please try not to be too disappointed.

... I mean, I know you'll be disappointed, I'm just asking that you try. ^_^

Jesheckah: Thanks, and you too :)

Psy: Shall I kidnap you and hold you hostage for a great ransom? That's a good enough excuse. Crazy young woman gone crazy...

I didn't make it on Sunday but will do my best for the next one.

My word count sucks compared to others, but I only started today. Damn November being so insanely busy!

I mentioned this to the group that was still around when I arrived late on Sunday but for those who weren't there:

The Christchurch Creative Space is a group that meets on Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons and is for anyone that considers themselves "creative", be that programming, crafting, electronicsing, artsing or even...writing. :)

Obviously Sundays are already spoken for but feel free to come along on Wednesdays 7pm till 11pm and hang out and write/chat/procrastinate. We meet at the Canterbury Innovation Incubator at 200 Armagh Street.

More details here: http://chchspace.nztech.org/

I shall attempt to keep it up! And I believe I shall be bringing my laptop to do some writing in the room after... how many others are planning on doing this?

Cool, I didn't get along to the last meeting but it's great to hear so many people turned up. Hope to be there on Sunday to meet all you other lunatics.
Man, it's so hard to NOT EDIT! What if I die mid-novel and someone reads this crap?

Definitely gonna be there. And whoever the genius was that decided November should be the month for this needs a good kicking. I will bet money that they were not a student when they picked this!

I've no idea if I'm on target or not but I did see the perfect motto for us all this month. And believe it or not it was actually something the Grand Idiot (also known as George W. Bush) said.

"We will not tire. We will not falter. We will not fail."

Duno about all of you but I need all the encouragement I can get! :D (Just call me Procrastination Man, the only super hero who is never there when you need him)

I work really well with competition, so seeing where I am compared to others is a great thing for me. Especially since I'm fourth today xD

I think a better motto is: We will tire. We will falter. But we're damn well doing it anyway! D<

xD

11 people isn't too bad for the second meeting - we knew it'd be less than 1st at any rate. I was -really- looking forward to coming this week, but I've just signed up for extra hours on Sundays, so won't be able to come anymore! :'(

My apologies! I tried so hard to be there today, really wanted and needed a good chance to write. But the local fireworks were on last night and, well... one thing led to another and... it's a story best left untold. Or perhaps I'll add it to my Novel. :)
Hope everyone had a great time today!

Will remember to put sunblock on my legs next time...
