So I was wondering. What are some of ya'll working Titles, and from what genre are you working from. Here is mine:

Working Title: The Starlit Warlock
Genre: Sci-fi/Fantasy

I have yet to create my final title for the novel, but I was hoping to see what everyone has come up with, just to get a feel for our region's dynamics.

Good luck on the rest of the month!

Hi

My working title is: Bridging the Rift
Genre: Adventure (also fantasy, tiny romance, and thriller elements...)

Also not sure if that's set in stone, but it's what I'm going with right now.

My working title is: The Devil in Texas. It's mostly historical fiction as the protagonist (who's first name is Texas) ponders his life as he considers suicide. Set in 1836-1880s in -- where else? -- Texas.

Mine is "The Poetry Professor" which I will probably change as it gives away a portion of the story that I might use as a surprise halfway through the book.
I've planted my flag in Literary Fiction as it is set in present day and deals more with social issues than plot.

Warpwoof, that sounds like an interesting read. I'd like to read it (or buy it in a bookstore) when you get done. Also, I love the HtCD quote in your sig. I used to read those all the time as a kid. I think my mom still has the signed copy of the book I got.

Is it horrible that I don't have a working title? I'm just writing this one on the fly, although it is shaping up nicely.

Genre: Fantasy

I'll get back to you on a working title.

Hey, I don't think there's anything that would qualify as "horrible" in NaNoWriMo, unless it's simply *Not* writing :-)

(borrowing a bit: "No Working Title? No Problem!" -- my apologies to Chris Baty)

Congrats on it shaping up nicely -- my novels don't seem to know the concept!

I mostly wait until i am a few chapters in to decide on a tiltle. That way i dont shape the story to the title. Of course i favor the quirky or Ironic titles, so they do require more thought, and caffiene!
My genre is Sci-Fi/Fantasy. its really fun to read and write in it.

My title is Undeniable Past, and I'm writing Scifi.

My story is about time travel, so a time-themed title seemed appropriate.

I don't have a definite title. I've considered Changeling Cycle and a few others with the word Changeling in them.

As for the genre... More or less Urban Fantasy.

Still undecided on the title, but the basic genre's Crime Noir. I'll be throwing in a little bit of Sci-Fi, but not too much. Right now, I'm just glad to have gotten something STARTED!

Working Title: Depart from Me
Genre: Christian, Inspirational

The story takes place in a single day, at a real though fictionalized event, and is based on two scripture verses; one from the old and one from the new testament.

Last year I tried a massive saga that spans over two centuries, and it was just too big to do in a month. In fact, I am still working on it, though close to the end.

This year, I am focusing on several people at an event, and on each of their perspectives. Much easier to handle, and turning out pretty well.

My title is The Mechanist. The story is definitely steampunk, but that is not a genre they let you choose so it's labeled as Sci Fi. I came up with the title and then looked it up to see what it means. It was both a profession and philosophy. I think it fits considering the protagonist is an intelligent inventor and the antagonist has a view of the world kind of like the philosophy of the Mechanists.

My working title is "Lovers and Strangers". Not sure I'm so fond of it that I want it to be the title forever, but we'll see. It's mainstream fiction.

I've got a working title now. "Fury's Fire" Most likely not the final title, but it will do for now. It describes one aspect of my magic system, so it's appropriate.

Working Title: Emily
Genre: Non-Fiction, noir, Inspirational

I think that's the genre i'm aiming this one for. Definately dark. a collection of short snipets of this girls life and how she lives with it. Told in the persepective of a guy who meets her at a coffe shop.

that's about as much as I got going! XD

I don't have a title yet, not sure if I will. I fail at thinking up titles, but right now I'm writing it on the fly.

Genre: Fantasy

Here's my stuff. I think the title is pretty set. It doesn't really give away much about the story, but at the same time it does.

Working Title: Rouge Batallion
Genre: Probably Science Fiction

The novel I originally started out November with was called "What Remains" and its still the one in my signature line. However, two days in I completely changed the story with probably one two things staying the same.

For now it'll stay "What Remains" until a more suitable title is chosen. "Give Unto Me" sounds nice at the moment.

Alright, well, I've finally come up with a working title... Barn Brats.

And I'd give a synopsis but the one I have on my novel page is a little out of date already as the characters keep doing things they aren't supposed to (a by-product of writing without any form of an outline) and twisting things up a bit.
