That's really awesome. I wouldn't mind studying abroad in Tokyo. I spent three month in Berlin once and I just loved it. :)

I know those cities are not related but... eh lol

Have fun!

I wasn't pretty enough to go to St. Olaf, but they let me in anyway. ;)

I didn't even know they had a program in Tokyo - that's really cool. I did Interim in Greece back when I was a sophomore. That was a while ago.

I think it's today that is going to be my long day.

I have to take my "older" cat (Myst, who will be 2 in two weeks) to the vet this morning as soon as they open. He hasn't eaten more than 1/3 cup total of food in three days, he barely drinks anything, and he is just so irritable and tired. He may need x-rays since his bloodwork came out clean a couple weeks ago (that's what the vet said at least). I just got shot down for a personal bank loan. Maybe I could work out a payment plan with my vet.

So yeah. I will try to get some writing done today, but my mind is SO elsewhere.

I'm bringing my laptop to work - we'll see how far I get typing like mad over lunch. Then it's off to the Loft for write-in goodness! I banged out 3K+ yesterday, which is fabulous for me.. my personal goal was just 10K. ;) I'm a third of the way there! hee..

First of all, UM YA YA to all the OLES!

Okay, now that's done, I'm already almost at the daily goal for today, but I'm aiming for at least another 2,000 today. 3,000 if I feel really good. I always experience a huge drop-off in word count come days 2 and 3, but I figure if I can keep the momentum up today and tomorrow, I'll be in good shape.

Have fun, everyone!

Hahaha yeah, its one of the full semester programs. And I got to go on a new interim last year to Slovenia/Croatia/Bosnia which was awesome. Just sort of a world traveler this year hahaha.

But I have 15 minutes left in the 2nd, which is silly when you consider its not even 9 in Minnesota in the morning. Your day is just beginning. I was hoping for 10k, but Ill take 9k and be happy with that. I shall persevere and continue writing a ton on days when it is gloomy and rainy! Good night from Tokyo, everyone!

I'm behind my personal goal this morning (2000 words per day) but still in line with the 1667 according to "No Plot No Problem" so I shouldn't worry too much.

I have my laptop with me at work, but I have no real expectaion that I'll even get a chance to look at it, let alone turn it on. Then I'm off the doctor, bring my husband some dinner (he'll be stuck at school and the cafeteria closes at 2pm) then to the loft. If that goes like it did last year I'll more than make up for my lack of words and be well on my way toward winning this thing again.

That's awesome, ariake. I never got to study abroad while at Olaf because I didn't want to give up my spot in the band (well, I did get to do an interim tour in Mexico, so I think I technically ended up as a study abroad statistic, but it's not quite the same), but I did get in my abroad experiences after I left! It's wonderful to hear that you're taking such great advantage of that life-changing opportunity.

Just be sure not to spend all your time writing! Get out there and see Japan!

I feel like a slacker seeing these 3 and 10k people!

BUT! I'm at 2k from yesterday (I finished the last few hundred before I went to sleep) so I'm doing okay.

I'm actually ahead of the required word count. This did NOT happen the first time I attempted, ever. I'm proud of myself.

However, as of right now, I absolutely hate what I've written. For now I'm just going with it, of course, and pushing my word count forever forward. It's such a huge, horrible cliche right now. Luckily, the way my novel is set up, I'll have several opportunities to make it better. I just have to manage to get to that point without pulling all my hair out in frustration.

haven't started today. On week nights i'll most likely be writing after work, so in the evening.
My cold is looking more and more like swine flu, but as long as i'm not too sick i should be ok to get in my quota. I hope to be able to do another 3K tonight since i know wednesdays are going to be a tough night for me

Reporting in from the Blue Moon, where I'm getting my writing done FIRST before I move on to the proofreading work I need to get done (Hi Serena!). Luckily I can do both things here, because I really think I need to be out of the house after a long day yesterday of helping/pushing my 14 year old to get his homework done. He's waaaaayy behind in 1st year German, and I'm trying to help him but I don't know any German, having studied French and Spanish in school. I had really wanted to go to the Merriam Park write-in but his quarter ends on Thursday and I knew he wouldn't keep going if I wasn't there to nudge and help.

It's so nice and sunny here this morning and the vibe is good, and my currently jobless hubby is here too, working on his homework for his college class and checking for jobs. AND the Blue Moon has pumpkin lattes this year, yum! They tend not to do the trendy seasonal drinks, so this is nice.

Now off to proofread!

Oh man, was I a slacker yesterday! Hopefully, slow times at work will allow me to actually win this year.

Just started this morning with no plot and no main character. Started writing about myself and the soul-crushing weekend I had... and a plot has arisen about how my car would fare in a zombie invasion. This'll be an interesting year.

I wonder which friends I'll have to kill after they've been turned...

OMG. I have 95 words so far. Which I refuse to put in that little box until I've written at least five more. I need some air in this house.. coffee... and.. maybe I'll go sit on the porch for inspiration. Go Wrimos@

Choked out 1731 mostly nonsensical words yesterday, and felt okay about it.

But today... I cannot see how I'm gonna do Nano and live the rest of my life. Just can't see it. I wanna go back to bed, but I won't. Must do things I don't want to do that have nothing to do with Nano. That's true all week, actually! (I see you Theresa! Good for your to Nano first!).

My spreadsheet lets me keep track of my Nano mood, which swung from 10 (woot!) yesterday to a 1 (OMG) this morning. Can't wait to see the graph of this week!

But I will be at the Loft write in tonight. I will!

Truely will be interesting.

I plan on doing a majority of my writing at work - the couple I live with just had a baby (like, last Monday), and there's no way I can get ANYTHING done when she's around! I just watch her! She's so cute! *gushes*

Here's hoping for lots of down-time at the day job.

Oh god. I am a terrible writer. I hate everything and everyone. My characters are dead hunks of wood and bone on the page. I move them around like chess pieces and it is dry - dry as dust! If only I were writing on actual paper so I could RIP IT UP AND THROW IT AT THE GARBAGE CAN.

I didn't think I'd be hitting this incredibly predictable snag so soon.

Oh, lauramars, you're just sayin' that to make me feel better. Too sweet, really!

On the up side, it's got to get better from here... a little bit better.... right?

Wrote 1900+ words yesterday and have yet to find inspiration today. In any case, have writing for my *real* job to do...gotta pay the bills first.

My main character has already started taking over and saying/doing unexpected things...

I just had that happened to me. My MC went into a house.Umm, that was not in my plan, what are you doing? As I continued writing I realized how that actually really helped set up Act II. I'm glad she's smarter than I am.

Feeling pretty darn good, for the 2nd of November. I have another 500 words to crankout after I take care of a few things, then off to class tonight. I am trying to write in the mornings, at least on the weekdays (no work, job ended on friday), then I can do job search and schoolwork (and housework) later in the day, when I am not at my most energetic. Busy weekend with family in town meant no write-ins yet, but I plan to get to one or two later in the week. Good writing to all of us...
