Part of my novel (or the bulk of it really) is set in New Orleans and Crowley.
What about you?

Hi, Emily!
My '07 Nano novel was set completely in an alternate universe New Orleans, but I admit I've never lived there and the details were loose (or invented).
This year, my book is more world-spanning (and history-spanning, to boot). That story dealt with flood damage (to property, people, and society), but this I have a flood, also, but its the ancient (or biblical) flood, the one that eradicated Atlantis.
Glad to see that you're still thinking of home!

Mine takes place in a fictional town between Lafayette and Baton Rouge. It's a really small town called Malvern somewhere in Lake Henderson.

Hi, figured I'd jump right on in too even though I am a day late starting on this years, NaNoWriMo and a newbie to boot.
Mine is actually set in my husband's home town in St. Mary Parish. I figure why not write what you know or in this case my spouse knows.

I'm originally from St. Mary Parish :)
Mine takes place in Louisiana, somewhat alternate. I haven't spent a large amount of time anywheres else so I figure I can add in as much setting detail as I want if it is around home.

Dunno if I could write something local to Lafayette..I've only been here for about 3 months :O So, I guess that leaves me with my original idea based on an island modeled after Easter Island. I'm gonna upload my first word count today of my first nanowrimo attempt ever, but not until I finish at least one chapter (er, prologue or something).
Cheers!
