So the past 3 years I have said I will participate in NaNoWriMo and never get to it....
Today a friend asked me how I was doing and if I started today.... today?
Shoot! it's November 1st already, let's get to it ....
The thing is, I have had so many ideas in the past, I just don' t know where to start and I feel a day behind is a big deal given 30 days and 50k words.....
Any advice, encouragement, poiters from experienced NaNoWriMo-er's would be most appreciated.
Thanks, Good Luck to you all :)

the best advise is pick an idea and start. A day behind isn't really a big thing, most uf us get behind at one point or another. My first year I was 12,000 words behind and still made it (at 11:40pm) it was tense but I did it.
If you can, stop by one of the write-ins or social events. It's much more fun when you're not doing it alone. Plus we have an IRC channel where we chat and do word wars to help everyone write. There is a thread with instructions.
Most important have fun with this.
Good Luck

Hey this will be my fourth year doing Nano, and I just wanted to say don't be discouraged about starting late.
My official start date is always the third because my birthday is the second and it's just too stressful to get the writing in with all the family around.
Just remember to keep writing and have fun with it.
And find one or two people who are willing to keep you accountable for your writing!
Good luck!
