...To see you, nice!

I just wanted to say a big "Thank you" to all the people who managed to make it to the first write-in and kick-off party at The Watershed yesterday. It was really good to see so many people there, especially all the new faces, and I have to say that I think it was the writingest write-in that I've ever attended. I even broke my record by writing over 500 words in the afternoon myself!

And to all those people who weren't able to make it - don't worry, you're every bit as important to Nanowrimo, and to the Bristol & Bath region as the people who did, and hopefully you'll be able to make to one of the twice-weekly sessions in Bristol, or the sessions in Bath (if they're well-enough attended to continue after this Thursday), or the TFIAO party at the end of the month when we can finally stop typing and just immerse ourselves in the world of hot chocolate, chunky chips, wine or beer..

Thanks again, and keep writing!

Russ.

I had a good time yesterday. It was great to see so many people there, some new and some familiar - I found it very motivating to be surrounded by people typing away. I hope we can all get to know each other better as the month progresses.

Sorry I didn't make it out to play on sunday - my brain shut down and I hid in my room for my own safety. Now I've started to write and actually succeed, things are a little easier, so I might come out and play once in a while before this is all over...

As my first write-in, it was certainly an experience! It was enthralling to meet fellow local Wrimos and to realise that I'm not writing my novel alone in a big city! The Watershed was a lovely place, and I also got a lot of work done! It was not just socially fun, but also productive, as I got a whole day's worth of words written there! The only problem is that now I have to match up all the people I've met to forum usernames...Certainly looking forward to attending at least another write-in, though I'm busy this coming weekend :(

I had a lovely time! Shame I had to leave a little early (and the day was wasted writing-wise because I've decided to start over), but I'll definitely be along on Sunday... AND I've managed to convince my flatmate to come along too. :)
