Hey everybody! So looking to set up some real informal write ins at Anschutz library on campus! I will probably be there at the following times:
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday around 8ish?
and possibly Friday around the same time.
Let me know if you are interested in meeting up there. Naturally if no one wants to meet up I will opt to stay at home a couple of days! Also let us all know of any times you would be at there and I might be able to meet then as well.
Happy Nano!

Awesomeness!
I will probably be wanting to do this although I cannot say that all of the time, every time will be spent solely on NanNo -- other homework beacons, too. Where in Anschutz?

I'm showing my lack of KU knowledge here, but can off-campus folks get into The Studio? I haven't been around the residence halls much.
I am totally down with the Anschutz meet-ups.
What do you guys think - should we try to meet on the 4th floor and take over one of those big tables? I will definitely be at the Wednesday night one if anyone else is going, although I'll probably get started closer to 7pm.

I would love to join you guys this week. Can't make it tonight, but I will try to stop by today (Monday) between 2-ish and 4 pm. Where do you think is a good, quiet place to sit? (what floor, and what area) I've never written in Anschutz before (well, not in many years, anyway!).

I would love to come, but it seems my ride home has abandoned me. I want to come to the write-in on Tuesday (at the Studio) and definitely Wednesday!
Break a leg, guys!

The 4th floor is cool with me... I'm not in Anschutz much, so I don't have much of an opinion on it. ^-^ And yeah, the Studio is really just like a coffee shop, except there's a place in the back where you can order food, like wraps, hamburgers, etc. They close at midnight, so it's a good place to stay late if anyone doesn't want to leave at any particular time, and you don't have to buy anything to use their wifi.

Wow that is awesome that so many people are interested! unfortunately I can't make it tonight. And I am totally dropping the ball, but I wont be there tomorrow night either.... Can anyone say basketball?
But I WILL be there on Wednesday night. and if I am not, I shall be spited by the noveling gods.
Forgive my giddy first-year-edness, but isn't this fun? haha.
Oh and on another note, to comment on the people who want to meet at the studio, I am sure we could mix it up. Personally, I like anschutz because it is kind of central to everyone. I'm at naismith, so the studio is quite a trek. But i do understand that the same can be said for you up on daisy hill about Anschutz... damn you KU and your wide open spaces, and steep hills!

oh, and Anschutz is open all night! so I am definitely thinking that we might have to pull an all night write in at the end of the month up in Anschutz.

I live in Hash, but I'd be all for meeting up in Anschutz or The Studio. Next few days are going to be crazy though, I have a big exam, and a paper to write in the next week. I expect to be a lot more active after that's done though.

The unfortunate thing is that I live all the way out in the Reserve.
But I am looking forward to seeing everyone tonight at the Studio! I will definitely be there!
Edit: How am I supposed to know who everyone is? ^^;;

Why don't we designate a "spot" for everybody to meet? That way we all go to the same area. I can bring in a little sign to sit in the middle of the table that says NaNoWriMo or something.

I didn't know either, Tom. These young whippersnappers and their cool jargon!
The Hash is Hashinger Hall, a dorm on campus. The Studio is a dining area/lounge inside the dorm.
Here's a map to help out: KU Dining Services

Yeah, Hash is Margaret Hashinger Residence Hall. It's just off Iowa, behind the KU Visitor Center. The Studio is a restaurant/cafe attached to it at the bottom, and it's open to anyone.

LOL, the KU kids don't know anything outside of campus, and the non-KU folks don't get the KU jargon. This conversation is pure win.
The Reserve, I'm guessing, is the neighborhood in NW Lawrence.

Hey now, cut me some slack. I ask because that neighborhood was where I lived before I joined the dorm life. : P

So, here I am. Just sitting here in the Studio (which apparently has two parts?) and clueless as to what to do or who to talk to. I see no sign.
I am all alone and enjoy long walks on the beach.

Yeah, it's an apartment complex. Kinda far from campus, unfortunately.

I'll be writing on the 4th floor of Anschutz tonight at 7pm; come join me!
The alphasmart should give me away, but just in case, I'll bring a copy of "No Plot, No Problem" and set it down at the end of the table.
