Yes, I'm starting a thread... Whoo!
Anyone wanna come to the Write In on Friday at the Lincoln Way Library? I think I plan to go over there about noon on Friday, just want to know if I'm gonna be alone or not xD

I put the time as 12:30 in the calendar, since I think that was the tentative agreement between you and Barb. Let me know if I should "officially" change it.
As for me, I have to be on the ND campus during the "workday" on Friday, so I can't make it.

I live just around the corner from there, I could probably walk.
I'll try to make it if I can =D

I'm still planning on coming, but as I'm walking from Broadway, it'll probably be closer to 12:30/1 depending on how clingy the baby is. But I will be there. And now, I'm going to leave these uncountable and therefore wasted words behind and get back to the metric-f**k-ton of crap that is my so-called "novel."
Cheers.

Mind if I hijack your thread for my question about write-ins? Is there anyone else in South Bend/Mishawaka area who wants to have some write-ins in the evening sometime? I usually work the old 9-5 M-F thing, so I can't make it to places in the daytime, and I don't want to drive all the way out to Elkhart either. There's gotta be some people who are in a similar position?

I am, but I usually save up my "write-in" interests for Saturdays.
That said! This Saturday the Elkhart contingent wants to go EVEN FURTHER AWAY, down to Nappanee, so if we had a partner write-in event, in, say, Granger, I'd be all for that. Jumpin Juice and Java, anyone?

I'd be up for Jumpin' Juice and Java on Saturday! I believe they open at 8.

There are write-ins Wednesday evenings at a Martin's in Elkhart. I think most of us do the 9-5 thing, so we meet up there whenever we get off work. My husband and I tend to go a bit early (6pm or so) and have dinner there. I know there are other ones planned for the Mishawaka and South Bend areas, but I don't know what they are. Check the google calendar on the main forum page for more write-in's.

Or, you know. Suggest them here. Which is what I think the point of this post is. ;-p

Yeah, I have school so I'm stuck with about the same predicament.
I'm in Mishawaka, so let me know if you come up with anything!

Oh, the Saturday thing helps. I was thinking all the Saturday meetings would be in Nappanee. I suppose I could go to Elkhart, but I already work out in Granger usually, and then I'd have to go all the way back to South Bend and back out again and I don't wanna. :p Maybe a couple times though, we'll see.
If anyone wants to have a write-in or two in the evening in South Bend or Mishawaka though, how about Thursday?

Whoo!
Alright, whoever is going to the library tomorrow, anyone know where we are meeting? I'll probably be the girl with a purple skull shirt on (My mom bought it!) and a notebook (paper not technological ;)).
My first time trying to go to a write in so ^^

I will be there in a slightly smelly, possibly stained NaNo Winner shirt.
Why don't we meet in the aptly-named Writer's Corner. If you head back towards the reference desk, it'll be off to your right, between the computer stations and the Large Print section. Or just ask a reference librarian--they can point you in the right direction.

Plan to walk there so I may be a little late.. Can't wait to for it ^^

I'm so sorry, Angelfowl. I was planning to go, but there was too much crap in the way. My toddler's teething and wouldn't go down for his nap; I had to go buy a new car battery and fight with my bank. Basically the suckitude of daily life got in my way and it wasn't possible today.
I'll be there next week even if I have to bring the kid.

Awwww, sorry it was so sucky :(
And call me Lex! I'll go next week I guess.
I basically sat at the tables in front of the Large Print section cause I wasn't sure where anyone was! ... guess you and I are the only people that planned to be there! *smirks*
Hope to see you next week then :)

Allbarbmay--what is it with the toddlers and the cars today? Not that I could have come, since I had no one to be with my kids, but I hear you on the suckitude of daily life! I too have a teether, and had my car fail to start half an hour from home with kids in tow (and ended up needing a new starter, ack!). No bank trouble, thank goodness, but I did get a bonus migraine in the waiting area of the repair place. So much for sneaking in some writing time...
BTW, love your sig quote!

Yeah, I'm beginning to wonder if I was completely out of my mind to try and do this again this year. Last year wasn't so bad, because Roland still slept most of the day. I think my blood has been slowly replaced with coffee. Maybe we should start our own thread, for moms and dads of small children who decided their lives weren't disorganized and stressful enough and added a novel to the mix "for fun"...then the childless writers wouldn't have to read our family-oriented rants!
Although, everyone has a sucky car story to share, I'm sure. We think the battery AND the alternator are dead. Joy.
BTW, are you an Ani fan?
