Is anyone in Lubbock organizing write in's? I live about 45 minutes away, but would do all I could to attend a write in if one were held.

No plans have been made yet (to my knowledge)...I don't even know who is the ML for our area this year. I'd definitely do a write-in sometime. It's always good to meet other crazy writers like me :-P

If we were to coordinate a write-in, what dates would be best for everyone? Any location ideas would be good too? If there is enough interest, I could set up a write-in

I'm a workaholic, so I'm tied down 8a - 6:30p or later M-F, and occasional saturday mornings. So any evening is fine with enough advance warning. In the meantime, you might find me writing 6:30-8 at Daybreak Coffee on 19th, though I might get too caught up in the gab there. Still stuck in planning right now b/c I decided too last minute to do this.
Even more than the write-ins, I like a chat about direction and motivation and so forth. I'm a lot more lost in establishing a method than I am in locking myself down and writing.

I should read closer. You asked for dates. I'm out of town 25th - end of month. Nothing like being on the road through the home stretch! Anytime before then is great.

Evenings are better for me, too. Usually after 8pm, since I try to hit the gym right after work and would need to grab a quick shower.

What about Denny's on Slide Rd? I'm not a huge fan of Denny's, but they serve coffee and have a couple of large side rooms. We could probably manage to have one all to ourselves if we went at the right time of day.

I agree on the after 8 PM front, as that is when my little squirt goes down for the night. I'm free every night after 8 PM. So, maybe we could do an 8 - ??? write-in somewhere? Denny's is fine with me. Will we need access to a power outlet or two, in case someone's laptop gets thirsty? I'm sure they have some in the walls of the side rooms.

I'm here for the whole month except the 26-29th (T-Day travel).

I would love to participate in a write-in. I work overnights, but am off Thursdays and Fridays, and as far as I know, I'm going to be here all month...

I would love to participate in a write-in! I am available most every evening. My roommate and I (who is also participating) have talked about hosting one at our house if anyone is interested in a more private setting. It's a pretty big house and could hold around twenty people or so. Potluck-ish thing, perhaps? Anyway, it could be fun.

Oooh, if we have a house party I can bring a banana pudding or some Rice Krispy Treats. I also have a great recipe for some homemade hot chocolate if it's cold enough!

Unless Denny's has changed it since the last time I was there that room only has one outlet in the corner. I used to go there a lot and that was my corner because I would bring my computer. In the past we went to IHOP on the south loop and took up a back section. People would bring power strips for all the laptops. I don't think the ML is participating this year, but believe me it is way more fun to have lots of write-ins!!!!
