Okay, folks. A bunch of people asked about having another late-night write-in, so I've arranged with Jitters in Bellevue/Overlake (right behind Sears) to OPEN ESPECIALLY FOR US at 10:30 p.m. Saturday November 21 and serve us coffee and other caffeine until 1:30 a.m.

Megan, the manager, will serve espresso, drip coffee, hot cocoa, and tea. She won't be starting up the Granita machine because of the cleaning and setup time. We'll work on having some snacks for the party as well. WiFi is also available.

We're trying to do this on a "two-drink minimum per person." For most drinks, that will come to about $6.00.

In order to make this work, I'll need to show Megan that there will be enough people attending to make it worth opening up in the middle of the night. (Jitters closes at 6:30 on Saturdays, so this is a private party for NaNo writers.) We can accommodate about 40 people at a time, and it will be cozy. There may even be some cool new prizes for everyone who does something cool. (Let me think... finish the 50k? I'll come up with something!)

Respond to this thread to let me know you are coming. I'll ask Renda to put it on the calendar.
Thnx,
Wayzgoose (Your HalloNaNoWeen host)

Sounds awesome! I'm putting it on my calendar tentatively - since I don't have a car it will be rather dependent on whether I can borrow my roommate's :-P

I usually have events on saturdays that I attend, but they usually start at 7, so in most cases I might be able to go. I'll have to
see as the date approaches. If my time is free, then I'm down for going.

I am interested but can't commit at this point. I have an event that evening and I don't know how late it will go. How strict is that two drink minimum? If I could only make it for an hour, it might be harder to gulp down two cups of coffee.. :)

Sounds great! I'll be there unless there is an emergency. Is there a parking lot?

Bumping this to let everyone know that we are definitely on for a late night write-in at Jitters Overlake Saturday night 11/21 at 10:30 p.m. - 1:30 a.m. Jitters manager Megan and barista Kaitlyn will be our hosts.

THEY ARE OPENING THE STORE EXCLUSIVELY FOR THIS NANOWRIMO WRITE-IN!

Several people have responded that they will be there. Join the crowd. Jitters has WiFi and about 35 seats at tables or comfy chairs. We've suggested a "two drink minimum" for those who attend would be appropriate. Keep in mind that drinks here will include espresso, drip coffee, tea, chocolate, and Italian sodas. The granita machine will not be functioning.

There will also be snacks available for purchase at a modest price. I'm still working on what will be available. There will also be a free certificate for a Wrote A Book Web site for self-publishing your novel from http://wroteabook.com for all attendees who would like one. Come and join us for this late-night extravaganza. There will be prizes and opportunities to contribute to OLL during our own night of writing dangerously!

Wayzgoose, I will be there. I may not stay awake the whole time, but if you just jostle me on your way out at 1:30am, I'd greatly appreciate it. ;-)

I just got to thinking about the official "Night of Writing Dangerously" (http://www.nanowrimo.org/writeathon) that is on the Sunday night after our late night write-in at Jitters. We should really send a message to San Francisco that we are here and writing dangerously all the time! Bring a donation to lump into a single contribution to OLL and we'll challenge the world to meet our three hour word count! What do you say? 10:30-1:30 11/21 (that's at night!).

Alright, so we're all at Jitters and everyone that isn't here is most definitely missing out. Our baristas are FABULOUS and we have a good group of 7 or so of us... plus them. Not too late to get here... we just got in at like 10:45.

Go Nano!

We're at Jitters. Tonight we are joined by Cloister, GCK, HighlandEmma, Jazzaholic17, Jsmthng, Cornchak, Mzmsed. Just had a 15 minute sprint with two people breaking 1000 words. Just eight of us, but we are jammin'.

Wayzgoose, thanks again for hosting; that was really productive. :) (And I went home and finished the 200 words I needed to hit 60K, yay! Sorry for being so aloof tonight; I really wanted to hit my goal.)

Jazz, if he forgets to message you, Wayzgoose has your power strip.

It was great to meet everyone.

(I will most definitely order "drip coffee with steamed eggnog, no cut" next time I drive past Jitters. That sounds fabulously decadent.)

Wow! What a great time last night. Out of 8 writers, three were close to, at, or over 5,000 words. We totalled over 22,000 words last night, including "500 well-thought words" that our barista added to her thesis. Thanks to Jitters for opening up their doors and being so incredibly friendly for our small group. It was a blast.
