Hello everyone!

I've decided to make a small challenge for anyone who is interested. All you have to do is time yourself for five minutes and write as much as possible and post your outcome. I hope this will be motivational for all!

I wrote 166 words in five minutes and I'm already setting my goal to beat it.

Good luck everyone.

Heh, first try...

69

by no means large, but for some reason a number i can find amusement in...

...
didnt see the need to post again when an edit would do...

tried again, 152 words this time. Deffinately better. I really need to work on either fleshing out the details more or learning to sweat them less while writing. I keep going off on thought tangents willy nilly, without ... there i went again, without committing it to text...

----------

Touche Life, a Job and a visit from the parents. I may not make it to 50k... But i got one week to set the bar Higher then ever for next year!

Well I gave it a go and got 255 words. Honestly I'm rather surprised I managed it. Of course, I type fast, and did know where I was going at that particular moment. :D

2008 - Casien (I won! But it needs serious work before others may read.)
2009 - Twenty Thousand Different Beings (Plot is lacking, but it aslways is for me.)

It was my first post so thank you both for sharing your scores!

I think this is the perfect challenge for anyone who needs to just drop the details for a while and write words. I have gotten 201 words in five minutes which is by far my highest! I made my character ramble for a good long while :). It's wonderful and totally puts my word count up!

199 for me! I was silly and wasted a bit of time bolding and italicizing things. And I definitely knew what I wanted to write. It does put it in perspective though, a straight hour of solid thoughts and momentum could get me above and beyond the daily quota.
Yet, amazingly, I'm still a bit behind....

301! Gotta love characters that write their own dialogue!

Hello,

well that was fun! I was feeling reluctant to get started today. I have some serious catching up to do and its a little daunting but that really got my thought process going. I wrote 192 word in 5 minutes. Not bad at all.

Well, off to work on my Nano!

Dee :)

Yes, a good way to get going again. I just finished re-writing the same scene for the THIRD time as both the first two times my system crashed. Now, I could take it as an omen that the scene should never happen, but FINALLY it's done.
And my word count: 234.
Who knew? Off to correct the typos I just can't live with.
:P

I got 190 words - might have hoped for better, but I'm in a big crowd discussion scene and keep having to look up character names in my Dramatis Personae. :-D

Just did 279. Going to see if I can beat it in a little while. This is a good exercise for motivating lazy sods who are quick typists, like me.
