Ok, so are there any southern Illinois Wrimo's that need a writing buddy on Friday afternoons? I will be at the Borders in Edwardsville on most Friday afternoons. Any takers?

I'm not looking to "hook up" or anything crazy. I'm happily married, but more or less new to the area so I just need new people to be writing buddies with. I do ask that anyone who takes me up on the offer be at least 21+.

Thanks folks.

I might show up before I head off to work.

Fridays are a wonderful day for a write-in for me.

On 11/6 I have a wedding rehearsal Belleville at 5 pm, have to go early, but hopefully I'll be there in the afternoon. Other Fridays are all clear except when I might be out of town.

Hey Jess,

We've got a pretty diverse group of writers here, many of whom live in Edwardsville, and I wouldn't worry about the "hooking up" thing -- a lot of us are either married or in relationships. At least 2/3 of the active Wrimos are female. I don't think anyone here's doing NaNo for the purposes of finding a boyfriend or girlfriend. (With rare exception, writers make terrible couples.) We're all in this to get those 50,000 words on paper!

I would suggest that, in the spirit of being inclusive, we not place age restrictions on requests for people to join us writing. Most of our group is 21+, but we have some very talented high school and college-aged writers who are trying to achieve the same goal as the rest of us. Let's not exclude them, OK? :-)

Sean,
Thanks for the suggestions. I am new to the boards here and I am not exactly sure what is ok and what isn't. So i appreciate the heads up. Next time I will try and be more inclusive.

What time did you have in mind? I may well be up for a Friday write-in at the Eville Borders.

Eight lords sleeping till it’s foretold
By an old hand they will be stirred
One a tree that’s grown too old
One a sound that’s never been heard
One a shade that hasn’t a caster
One a light been swallowed by a bird
One hangs like a ghost in the sky

Mid-afternoon-ish. I'm usually in Eville on Fridays after one. I really didn't have a set time in mind. I was going for informal at best. I have some personal stuff to do on the 13th and so I am not real sure on if or when I'll be able to be there for a write in at least for that day.

I'm at borders now and have to say I think this is my favorite place to write. Lots of readily available coffee and wi-fi and a place to plug in my pc. I love it. So thank you Edwardsville borders. I wills someday mention you in the credits of the movie that gets made from this book. :)

Sorry to have missed you ... I got behind on my schedule and had no time to travel north before I had to travel south.

I hope to be there next Friday afternoon as it is usually my day off.
