Ang and I decided to host this Sunday's Write-in down in sunny Suwon.
We will congregate at the T8 in Suwon Station at 1pm. If there are not enough seats or power outlets, we will strike out from the Station to other nearby locales. The general idea (subject to change) is to write from 1 - 6pm, have dinner and then go our separate ways.
If you plan to attend the Suwon Sunday Write-in, please post here, so we can have a rough head count. When you arrive at the Station, if you don't see myself or Ang, call me at 010-8877-6742.
Thanks!
Chris

If anyone wants to travel down from Yongsan on the Samaeul/Mugungwha Korail trains instead of the subway (cuts nearly 45 minutes off the trip for me) I will be at Yongsan Station at 12.

I thought it was only about 1:10 from Suwon to Yongsan by metro to begin with, but yeah the real trains are usually better (not to mention more comfortable).
I'm already in Suwon though - I'll be showing up. I'm not sure I remember the "T8" though?

Sounds good.
Ang - Clodagh and I will meet you at Yongsan at 12 - the train that we take from Donong ends up at Yongsan, so that's pretty handy for us.

I plan to attend.
What is this T-8 you speak of?

I don't know what T8 is either, Ang mentioned it. We'll get there and scope out what coffee shop is in the Station. If a Suwon resident could look at the station this week and see, that'd be spectacular.

Well, if you are all coming here, then I don't supose I have an excuse not to come. I'll just have to go to COEX on Sunday instead. Count me in.

T8 (I think it's T8, it's a T-something) is upstairs from where you buy tickets to the KTX/regular trains at Suwon Station (not the subway). It's next to a donut shop and a KB bank, from memory - opposite Smoothie King, and one of the entrances to AK Department store.
Notes: Anyone meeting at Yongsan, meet me at the KTX automated ticket machines at 12. Takes 35 minutes from Yongsan to Suwon by Saemaul/Mugungwha, gives us plenty of time to wait for stragglers if there are any, wait for a train and then get up to T8 once we arrive.

I'll try to be at Yongsan train station at 12. Is it connected to the Yongsan subway station the way Seoul station is?

Casi - it's the same station, platforms 1-4 or 6 or something are subway, platforms 7 and up or something like that are the long distance trains - they aren't in separate buildings joined by arcades/walkways like Seoul Station is.

I plan on coming. If I remember correctly from living in Suwon, there's an express bus from Kangnam that takes 40 minutes or so and drops you off in youngtong. I'll probably do that since I live in Kangnam now. I'll get a bus or taxi to the station from there.
It's too bad this isn't on Saturday so we could go out afterwards. I miss hanging out in Suwon. You lucky Suwon living folks...

Hey! I'd like to come! I'm not a Seoul-ite, though... how should I get there?

You can take the inter-city bus from Daejeon to Suwon. There might be a train as well.

The Saemaeul and Mugungwha trains stop at both Suwon and Daejeon and the trip takes roughly an hour and a half. You can check for times online (http://www.korail.com/en/rv/pr21100/w_pr21110.jsp)
YONGSAN PEOPLE - meet at Yongsan Station at the KTX automated ticket machines (directly opposite the subway ticket machines and associated counters) at 12. Any issuez at that end, 010 2891 7170 is your friend =)
Otherwise, T8 or whatever the number is at 1! I can't remember. Opposite Smoothie King, between a donut/coffee place (I think it was a Dunkin but I'm not certain) and a KB star bank. NOT in the subway concourse; it is almost directly above where you buy tickets for the KTX/Mugungwha/Saemaeul trains. If the place is no longer there/changed names etc., meet at the same spot and we can disperse from there.
I will have the mighty powerboard of doom and some little prizes for word war winners with me.

Well, it looks like I will NOT be coming. Less than two hours before I left work Friday, my boss decided to spring on me that they want me to do a product demo on Sunday at 3:00 in 범계(Bumgye? I don't know how to spell that in English...) I should be done by 5:00 or so but even though 범계 isn't that far from Suwon, I still couldn't get there in enough time to get anything productive done.
I guess I'll just go home and write and pretend I'm at a write-in :-(
Maybe I'll see you guys in Busan. Still trying to decide if I can go or not.
