Hi Nanoers,

zomby13 and myself are going to try for a 20,000 word weekend Nov 6-8. We will be starting after work on Friday and then going to Monday before work. Anyone else want to try this craziness with us? See you all at the write INS.

Sincerely,
molly573

Hell, why not? I'll give it a try. From what time to what time? I work until 7:00 pm on Friday. Is there a standard time?

I may crash and burn; I'm a bit afraid after my strong start now. And both of you are kicking my butts in words - great job!

You know what, I might just try this. I was telling zomby13 tonight that I'm going to be out of town and traveling this weekend, but I think I'll at least try and see how close to 20K I can get. I'll at least have all of Sunday while I'm on a plane and in the airport.

What time on Friday are we talking about starting?

It has been discussed and the competition will start at 4pm on fri and continue until 7 am mon morning. those are the hours for end of work week for a teacher. The race is on. I don't know if I'll make it but i want to use the excitement of the first week to get as far ahead as I can.

Sounds good! I'm going to use those times but for Eastern time, since that's where I'll be this weekend. Will still be the same amount of time though :)

I think I might try this. I really want to get to 70k for this novel, so I am lagging behind a bit.

Good luck everyone. What a great idea :) I may not leave my computer all weekend, but that's okay. Jay's not going to joining, I think it's a bit too much for his two typing fingers!

Holy Wow! I may have to be driving for six hours in the car one of those nights, and I'm pretty sure I shouldn't type while driving ;-) , but I will aim for close to that over the weekend. Maybe I can figure out one of those speak to my computer and have it type for me programs. Power to the wrimos!

I'm definitely going to try. I've never done Nano ever so I'm already pretty proud of how I'm doing.

Its looking like I really need this now. Starting to fall behind by about 300 words a day. I want some padding.

Sounds like a plan! I need to get a jump start on my novel anyway, and I'll have my house to myself all weekend so really there's no excuse not too!

I'm in. My goal was to finish my novel in the first week, but based on how far I am and how much more I have to write, I'm pretty sure the best I can hope for at this point is just hitting 50k.

Shouldn't that be 318 minutes per hour? Haha, this scared me for a minute. I was like wow...I don't think I even type that fast.

Thanks for the catch. I was too busy thinking about where to take my novel's characters next.

Bah, so I failed this miserably. That's what I get for saying I'll do 20K over a weekend when I'm: a) attending a wedding Saturday evening, b) traveling all day Sunday, and c) seeing my family for pretty much just the weekend for the first time since last Christmas. So yea, I got absolutely no writing done this weekend :(.

But I had fun with my family :). And congrats to those of you who did your 20K (and then some)!!

I failed too, but I still got twice as many words done as I'm supposed to. Can't complain really. I had family come in from out of town as a kind of surprise and then an important birthday celebration. I may not have written 20K, but I have no regrets.

I didn't make it, but I realized early on that it wasn't going to happen. I'm still happy with my 12,000 + that got added to my word count. And, no, I still didn't ge my papers graded last night. I've got a little bit of a cushion, so I don't feel like I have to be in a mad sprint any more. I'm hoping to finish (50k) by the end of the Night of Writing Dangerously this Saturday. I don't feel that's too far out of reach if I just maintain my 1,667 words/day this week.

Congrats to those who finished their 20k this weekend, that's AWESOME!

I had a rough weekend with this. So many places to be, I hardly had 2 hours to myself. I failed miserably, and then forgot to back it up so I cant work on my full story while at work. I am falling behind rapidly, and its discouraging.

Congratulations to Molly573 and zomby13 for reaching their goals of 20,000 plus words over the weekend. I honestly thought the two of them were crazy to even try, but they proved me wrong. Way to go!

Do not beat up on yourself 10k is an impressive amount to write, you are not that far behind. You can still manage to finish on time. Come to a couple of write-ins they will help a lot.

I always end up socializing at write ins instead of writing. I am a boon to the others there. The good news is, when I actually have time, the story is writing itself. I have at least six or seven of the next scenes planned, and a subplot just happened to show up.

My word count is also closer to 11k. I have Wednesday off from work so I will have time. I just need to get some actual time to sit and do it.
