Hello!
Vancouver has thrown down the gauntlet and challenged Hawaii to a Regional Word War, and Hawaii has picked it up. (It might have been the other way around, but there was definitely gauntlet throwing and picking up.) Thanks to the wonders of the Regional Info tab, we will be able to tell on December 1st which region wrote the most words, and which wrote the most per Wrimo with a word count. To that region will go a year's worth of bragging rights and endless amounts of taunting.
But why should the taunting be reserved for after the party's over? After all, what would a challenge be without some friendly ribbing and trash talking? Therefore, I declare this to be open season between Vancouver and Hawaii. Let the games begin!
This thread is posted in both Vancouver and Hawaii, so that you may join in the taunting from both sides without having to affiliate with the enemy.

Provided words I made up myself count, Hawaii is so going down! we shall drown them in neologisms! the Jaasha, Shaaja, and Aldre'mirrn will pile up so high you'll have to climb to the tops of the tourist hotels just to see the ocean. just wait.

Well met, Hawaii!
I'm afraid to inform you but Washington has the obvious climatic upper hand.
That's right, we won't be tempted to lounge on white beaches, or participate in luaus, or dance the hula. No annoying red cheeked tourists will stop to ask us for directions.
You know why? Because the gentle repetitive patter of our liquid sunshine sends us into a trance like writing state.

Climate is on our side- at least our fingers won't be in danger of freezing off while we type. The coldest it ever gets here is on the morning bus.
Besides, we couldn't possibly lose to a city that stole its name from Canada!

Oh, you have no idea what you just started. We did not steal our name from Canada! Fort Vancouver (the original settlement here) was established in 1824. Vancouver, BC was incorporated in 1886, over 40 years later. You can make any other derogatory comment regarding the two Vancouvers that you want, but you simply cannot say we stole their name. They stole ours!!!
I'm sorry Hawaii, but you've just given us one more reason to wipe the forums with you come December 1.

the important thing is that we just keep writing and writing and writing...
because in Hawaii... we're writing like a lava flow! creating new novels through miles and miles of word count!!!
