Ok, it's time to muster our forces and go to war.

For those that are new or have not taken part before, the Regional Word war does pretty much what it says on the tin - the British regions are competing against each other for best average wordcount. It's just a bit of fun, to help encourage more writing. There's nothing like a bit of competition to get the words flowing.

Last year we did quite well (our best ranking to date, I think), so let's do even better this year!

The rules are laid out in a seperate thread, and you can ask any questions there. This thread is solely for sign-up. If you want to take part, respond in this thread.

All are welcome, but as this is a competition obviously you should only really take part if you're at least confident that you'll hit 50k. Dropping out is of course possible if things go awry - the rules for this are in the other thread.

So, soldier, are you man (or woman) enough to join up and fight for your region?

Semper apices!

Count me in!

I have a story I love and a plan to drag me through it. This year is going to be my year.

I'm game. Or perhaps something more appropriately war like, I'm a gun, perhaps, or a tank...or a pair of green binoculars.

I've been told I wouldn't do well in a war zone.

Still...I do have words.

Fight with what you got, my grandad never said to me.

So that's a yes then.

I'm signing up. I need something to get me typing faster: I'm already 148,080 words behind my target. (I was planning to write 50,000 words a day.)

No, of course I'm not serious, LOL. Although I am (optimistically) hoping to beat my previous best word count. Should be good for the war.

Count me in! I'm afraid my pirate characters will hang me from the rigging if I don't hit at least 50k.

I'm in. I know the word count is suffering at present, but now I am back on the right continent, I'm hoping to address that over what is left of the weekend and be back on track by the end of next week at least!
