Do you feel anyone outside the 20s age group will "get" your novel?

Aiming at younger people should be easy but I personally feel like the world has changed since I was a kid.

And I personally have no experience of what it's like to be 30 or over....do they feel the same way about us?

I hope people outside my generation will get my novel. I am not writing specifically for a certain group. My writing is usually about a broad topics, like the environment, and my NaNoWriMo novel is about superheroes, and who doesn't like superheroes? No one, thats who!

As long as you are writing something with some sort of common theme people will get it. Will everyone like it, no. Maybe some people older won't get it. But there are several things that keep going, that parents know about they're smarter than we might think), that adults have known and been through and understand in writing. They were teenagers once, too. They were in their twenties once, too. They've gone through more than a lot of people give credit for.

I'm going to get off my high horse now, and just chalk it up to "probably"

The only way you can really tell for sure, though, is to ask someone in that age group.

I'm not sure if anyone outside my age generation would "get" my novel or even my writings in general. I am the same with you, I feel as if the world has changed since I was a child and I don't know if the younger generation or any generation would find my writing appealing. In fact my writing style and story telling is more geared to a "general" audience. The story itself will probably intrigue people and the characters they can relate too hopefully or at least find somewhat interesting. If the story speaks to the younger generations of the older generation I don't know.
All I know I enjoy writing and I am pretty sure someone would love to read my stories one day.
