I'll be there!

I'm new to NNWM, and have never done a write-in. How do I come? XD Just show up?

I'm 14, does my age account for anything?

Well, 13 is old enough for NaNo and it's not like the library serves booze (ed: learn to read, Brian) the cafe is an adults-only venue, so THAT should be all right. :)

I'll leave the first bit to our friendly neighbourhood slave-dr MLs to answer for sure.

Thanks. I'm fine hanging around with people older then me, so that parts fine, I just don't know if everyone else is fine with it.

I want to go, its just my mum doesn't like the times. I live on the lower part of south shore. Thats an hour away, but I still want to meet a few people who are crazy enough to do this as well.

You just show up with your laptop / writing material. A write-in is where we gather to write. I'll have meet-ups, in which we gather to just socialize. =)

No, your age doesn't account for anything. Considering that a lot of us joined this when we were younger, we're generally cool with the underaged =) (We're also cool with the overaged, snerk.)

No worries about not making out to the weekday events, particularly. That's why I have weekend events; people from out of town usually make it to those. Let your mum know we'll have Sunday afternoon events, and see if she'd be willing to drive you then. She's also welcome to hang out with us, if she wants.

Nothing says you need to stay to the very end! Even if you only drop in for a few hours - it makes the travel time more of a nuisance, yes, but just comparing my performance Sunday with my utterly horrible efforts on previous years, getting out to a gathering that's just about writing really does help.

If the late hour is a problem, maybe Sunday afternoons at Paperchase Cafe would be better suited? (ed.: Jha beat me to it)

Anyway, speaking personally, I don't mind.

My mum said Friday isn't good - my dad's birthday is on saturday. ;_; So not this week.

Indeed there is. Sunday afternoon at the Paperchase, Wednesday at... I think the Paperchase again because of the holiday(at least I assume that's what "the Chase" refers to), and probably again Friday at C&J. Plenty of opportunities!

You may notice that in the same header areas the list of MLs for this region, off to the right, there is a Calendar. It currently lists events for the rest of the month as we know so far.

And yes, the 'Chase does refer to Paperchase Cafe. I get lazy sometimes, and it looks cooler.

I will be attending. During NANOWRIMO I plan to learn the "Ala Peanut Butter Sandwiches!" spell from Mumford the Magician as I plan to attend all write ins and require sustenance.

Believe me, she's not lying when she says mum's are welcome. my mum hung around a lot my first year, when I was 15. (though, I don't know if you'd want her to, haha, I certainly didn't...) so no worries, we really are cool with the younger ones :)

The post office continues to mock me, so my computer hasn't come yet. I might be able to borrow my brother's laptop again if he doesn't make a passive-aggressive Oscar performance out of it. :/
