It's only day three, and I've already gotten three love letters! The entire existence of my novel is confined to my computer and the comments I make here on the forums, and that's somehow enough for people to love it. Not only that, but all of the people I've shared the details of my plot with react with, "wow, that's awesome!"

Personally, I'm not very happy with what I've written so far- my narrator suddenly got all sulky and unfunny, and this is supposed to be a comedy. But all this love is encouraging!

My friend is the same way.
I will tell her small bits of plot, and she squeals. :3

Yeah, it's nice. A great motivator, to say the least. My friends are making me send them the novel with every chapter I write. XD

...Seriously? o___o;;
I don't feel insignificant at all now. But I suppose that's what I get for being a newbie, hahaha.
You must have some great synopsis!

One of my friends has already asked me for an autograph :D

And two of them are all, "We'll do all the work on the really-really-important-and-long-project, you use this time to WRITE!"

God, I love them.

Yeah, i'm getting none of that... For the first two novels I wrote I got some slight hints of interest. Now all I get is "Oh, you're writing another novel, cool." I have been fishing for compliments for the last 3 days and the best I've gotten was permission to e mail the first few chapters to my older sister.... which she'll read "If she gets a chance" I wont pretend i'm not jealous..

Haha, I'm in the same boat! I have one or two people at school asking for parts as I write them and one or two on the internet as well... to say the least, it's a great motivator! :D

I'm jealous. I'm the kind of person that needs constant reassurance and everyone who normally reads my stuff is kind of... unenthusiastic about my NaNoWriMo book. I think because it's a more light-hearted thing than my usual work. It's a romantic comedy that's been pushing out of my skin for years, and just because it's a little different doesn't make it bad.

I haven't been lucky enough to get any love letters, but I've had one girl in my class who, when I told her I was writing a story, really wanted to read it. I had to explain to her that no, it wasn't done yet or edited, and she asked me to please let her read it sometime before graduation. I also told my writing teacher that I was writing a novel, and the basic premise, and she suggested I email it to her when I'm done so she can read it! This is the first time anyone has shown any interest whatsoever in my writing, beyond the general 'Oh, that's nice, keep it up but keep it to yourself' I've always gotten.

My best friend is really supportive. So far she asked to read what I was writing each day at the end of a writing session, making funny comment along about thing I hadn't thought about. lt helps to calm my inner editor who really want an entire re-write

I haven't gotten any offers from anyone to read my stuff. I tell them what it's about, but no one is really interested. They just say how great it is that I'm being creative and how they could never do what I'm doing... but heaven forbid anyone read! Oh well. I'm jealous, but I'm not in a hurry to get people to read it. My best friend will read anything I write. :D

I've had people discussing my WriMo in real life, my novel nominated for a cover, random people NaNo mailing me saying they're looking forward to reading it, great critique in the Evaluation topics, and my classmate who helped me come up with the idea is going to be my future editor.

If only this damn block would get the Hell off chapter two! >/

I explained my story for my little sister, and she is eager to read it already - she is a great motivation and tells me often that 'Amanda, you have to go write now!'. She is already impatient to read it, so I feel bad for her that first I need to edit it, then I will have to translate it to Swedish so she will be able to understand it. She is just a newbie at English right now.

Hopefully I'll be finished with it all until the 19th of January which is her birthday.

Also, everyone I've told about the story thinks it sounds great, which is an inspiration source for me :)

My older sister keeps asking when she will be able to read my novel. I've told her that it'll be a while yet seeing as I'm only 3 and a half days into writing it, but she's very enthusiastic. I think she's just happy that I've found something useful to do with my time. My Mum is also keen to read it when I'm done - I told her the basics of the plot a few weeks ago and she thinks it sounds good.

Now I just have to keep going and hope they like the end result!

That's really cool. :) I've only shared some excerpts with two friends of mine who have fallen in love with it so far, and after the covers contest, some people added me to their buddy list. But no PMs or stuff.

I say keep writing, even if the narrator is getting sulky! It might take you somewhere you never thought of -- that's the beauty and curse of novel writing. Sometimes our characters know what to do when we don't. I've been learning who my characters are the more I write and it's making me fall in love with the story the more I get into it.

I am jealous D: I keep posting my word counts on Facebook, and 2 friends are cheering me on, as well as my boyfriend, but no one seems particularly interested in my plot. But I guess that horses aren't for everyone.

I told my one friend about it yesterday and she got really excited. And then she asked to read it when its finished. I self-added edited onto that request, because it is going to need HEAVY editing. But someone wants to read something I wrote! I'll have motivation to finish when I want to throw my laptop out the window!

I wish I had friends and fans clamouring to read what I have written! I don't even have any Nano buddies! *feels unloved*

Having said that, right now I feel as though my work is not fit for public consumption, so it's probably a good job no one is after me to read it :-D

xD I've got to say, I can't even get my fiance to be interested. But, to be honest, of all three years I've actually genuinely tried NaNo, this is probably the one I'm least enthusiastic about. But you can't really switch already 1/5th into it, I guess. Tried that last year and it sure didn't work.

I am very new to this, but love writing. I really wanted to get into this last year but I felt I couldn't go far with my novel. This year however I feel differently, maybe because my characters are alot deeper. I'm not surprised you have fans- it sounds fantastic so far by the way:)

I haven't shared anything I've written with anyone yet, other than the excerpt on my novel info page, and I haven't begged for cheerleaders, because I'm not willing to give myself ulcers and/or disappoint people over a word count.

I did, however, have a fellow NaNoer friend tell me my story was made of win the other day. That made me smile. :)

lol, I know how you feel, TC. One of my friends at school told me that for her birthday in December I should get her a signed copy of my novel. I was like, "why on earth would you want that?" and she said, "because you're EMILY VORK! it'll be worth millions in a few years!"

My friend is the same way. I let her read what I had so far, although I didn't tell her it was for NaNoWriMo.
Today I finally informed her of it being for NaNoWriMo and she went "OH, I LOVED THAT STORY!" and was really excited to find out I'm going to try and make it into a novel.

I want to post an excerpt of mine on here on my Novel Info but I'm too nervous to at the moment haha. Because I'm not really satisfied with what I have but at the same time, I do want others to read it and get a feel on if it's just me or I do need to do a lot of editing later on. Meh, I don't know.

Haha. I'm reluctant to even explain what my story is about. I don't like people reading it, and when people look over my shoulder at school I can't type.
I guess I'm trying to keep away fans.

Haha I am the exact same way, actually.
I've attempted to explain my plot to some but I've only gotten confused stares in return. Or if I explain it online, they just go "Um, yeah, you lost me." So, I'm very hesitant to explain my plot to people. I just tell them to wait until they can read it because it's much easier to comprehend.
