So I think it must have been the moon rays this week that sucked the noveling out of me. I have 1K and it is dead. All Tell and no Show. Anybody else having a time of it to get rolling? This is #6 and I should be past this mood. I know better, but I am stuck...holding up my watch as high as I can to keep it out of the pile. Or maybe I have a novel about being stuck. Like a fly on a strip of paper.Sticky paper.....

Phoebe did you mean 10,000 words and not 1000? Yes, you did. You got something going, go back and make that into some kind of an interview, pull it out of tell, and make it show. You know how much you love to do show and tell. go girl you rock. show your stuff, and don't blush.
You know who....wink :)

Hey you two, cut it out. Get back to the manuscript and stop this silly talking to your self. I know what you are up to and the fact is you have got some hot characters that want you back. So get off this and back to your google doc. You can talk to yourself there.
Your secret admirer.

A new morning with bright, dewy eyes can make amazing things out of a story that is going nowhere. Pro tip? Switch lead characters! Oops, what that whole thing a story that I'm not interested in with a person who I'm just not feelin'? Well, what about that cute coffeeshop boy she ran into a while back? He was cool and I'm sure there's more going on under the surface there!

My inspiration can sometimes flow with the moon cycle. I write frantically on full moons (which is good for the beginning of the month this year) but it wanes with the moon as well. By New Moon, I hit the stone wall of creative stagnation and light my candles to waxen a path for my Muse to return.

I've been the same way... I'm just not used to writing in 1st person, so this is hard to do... but it has to be this way because we follow her dreams, know all of her reactions... etc....
I will kick this into gear, though... I want to hit 10K, or better, by the weekend.

The new moon has made my writing come almost to a standstill after a furious explosion of verbosity. Now the moonless night, heightened by a power outage from the winds, has darkened the countenance of my Muse. Luna powers the imagination with her cold, comforting light. When she is dark, the flow of my creativity halts. This is a time to light a candle (necessary with no power) and contemplate what shall be coming up through the rest of this month.
It's time to stare at the darkness (or at my screensaver) and contemplate the future (of my characters, of course!) The void of darkness pulls me inward, searching the depths of my mind and soul, and forces me to trust the dark, trust uncertainty, build the courage to step onto a path I cannot see, nor do I know what route it will guide me upon.
This is the essence of NaNoWriMo!
