You only get to choose ONE SONG! People that post more than one song will suffer a 10,000 word penalty, and a sound beating from the stuffed marmot.

My song (which has NOTHING to do with my story, it just makes me smile when I hear it):
Fireflies, by Owl City

The Organ Donor by DJ Shadow.
It was the song that inspired the character that inspired this whole story, plus its a good song.

I didn't realize my theme song for this novel until I'd already begun it, but it has become:

Golden by Fallout Boy (don't laugh xD)

The lyrics are just too perfect. I've been listening to it practically non-stop while I write!

Dorchester Hotel by The Sound. Mostly because it's been on repeat (off and on) for weeks on my computer. idk, it's just catchy. I'm another one who picked a song that had nothing to do with my novel.

Theme songs would need to be assigned by character in my novel, but if I had to pick JUST ONE...

"Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga. It fits all too well.

Hmm...I would say my Nano theme song would have to be...

Witchqueen of Eldorado by Modern Talking. It has NOTHING to do with my story, but it somehow keeps me motivated.

Every Time You Kissed Me by Emily Bindiger.

It fits well for several of the scenes in my novel, and I like the tune.
Two birds with one stone.

My story hasn't exactly gotten to this point yet, but it will be "Kryptonite" by 3 Doors Down.

My theme song for this nano is "Alone in Kyoto" by AIR off the "Lost in Translation" soundtrack.
Kind of embarrassing, but I guess that's the point of the thread, right ? :)

For me, "Fly From the Inside" by Shinedown is my writing theme. I wish there was an official video on YouTube to share, but it looks like the band or record company doesn't want there to be one. Oh, well.

I would have to say that mine is "Give" by Tori Amos.

Even though I've already posted a theme song, I've found that the music from The Truman Show has really been resonating with me while writing. In particular, Anthem, the song that plays when Truman stops traffic as he realizes that things are not as they seem.

I had to dig up this thread after what just happened.

My story takes place in the early 80's, and it involves a club with a DJ. So I reference some songs that come from that era. Anyway, I had just put in a reference to Don't Stop Believin' by Journey. I took a break and went outside. There was a car coming up the highway behind our house, and their stereo was so loud that I could here it through the trees. The song that was on was -- you guessed it -- Don't Stop Believin'. I guess I have to designate that as my theme song now. That's actually too bad because I don't like the song that much but the sentiment is certainly appropriate. I love synchronicity.
