I missed the Sunday evening do at Coffees. I went to the library at 6 pm. Got my time & place mixed up. Not sure where I got that info.

Did many attend?

I'd love to have another chance to connect with my fellow Kingston wrimos.

Any ideas?

I'm feeling isolated already and it's only Nano's third day

Hey,
There were about 6 of us there writing. I'm not totally sure about my plans for this weekend yet, but I'd love to do another get together. I was able to write much quicker when I had no internet, and I knew that it was expected of me.

Hi,

I am sorry, but I can't make it. Have an appointment at the C & E Museum.
But I wish you all the best for the writing and hope to see you the week after.

Best Wishes,
Thomas

Got a time frame you'd like to propose Aaria? We can see who else it works for.

I was just thinking that I might be working until 4 or 5 on Sunday. And getting from work to Coffee Co is probably going to take 20 minutes at best. I was just wondering if we could set it maybe an hour later. ^^;;

Whoa, I have to check here more often. x_x This is good to know about.

My friends have, in their minds, confirmed that I'm completely mad---I stayed up til 5 this morning, and was asleep until about an hour and a half ago. I swear I didn't mean to sleep that long. Haha.

Anyways, my point is, I'm doing nicely in terms of word count (even with distractions like the Internet, evil device that it is), so I don't see the harm in sitting myself on a bus for a bit to get myself downtown. I'll be the person loitering outside, afraid to go in because I don't have money to buy anything. o.O

Soooo, are we taking Aaria's suggestion and moving it back an hour?

Is it okay if we did? I have work until 5pm on Sunday. And I really would like to come tomorrow!

It doesn't bother me at all... :) In fact, maybe what I'll do is get there around 4:30 or so, so that I'm there when you get there.

I don't plan on staying very long past 6, though... I need to grab the bus back at some point, plus I have a test to study for. Ugh. :P

Just a couple side notes:

One, Aaria, you may want to send Glen (CrazyKeys) a message about moving it back an hour, just in case.
Two, why haven't the time postings on the forums changed for Daylight Savings Time? It confuses me.

Let's say 4:30 then. The ending time can be flexible - depends on how quickly individuals reach their goals for the session.

Sounds good. My sleep patterns are completely skewed........ I went to bed at 8:00 this morning and just rolled out of bed. -glug-

NaNo has my soul. That's as close to an all-nighter as I've ever been. A writing friend in Australia suggested staying awake, but... he's crazy.

Well, I don't even drink coffee so I have never been to Coffee Company. When I tried to look up Coffee Company in Kingston, Google referred me to Starbucks Coffee Company and showed several locations. I picked the one most downtown and arrived there right at 4 PM sharp. Asked a few perfect strangers with laptops if they were there for NaNoWriMo and got the typical weird looks. I sat down to wait and write.

After 30 minutes of seeing dozens of customers in and out but no new laptops I asked the sales clerk if there might be another shop called Coffee Company. Yes, one block down I was told. So I packed up and went down to the correct location where I found a nice couple with laptops. I asked them if they were there for NaNoWriMo and was told nicely enough that yes but that the two other empty seats were already taken.

There being not another vacant seat in the place, I came home.

Bummer!

So much for trying to partake of some Nano comaraderie!

If there's another Nano get together for the Kingston chapter may I make two suggestions?

1. Let's have it in a place where non-WriMoes don't have to be asked if they are the ones we're trying to meet.

2. Let's have it in a place that might actually be able to accommodate us.

As for me, I'm done trying to organize anything.

How horrendous! And how unfortunate to have missed you.

Coffee Company is on the southeast corner of King and Princess, downtown. I know that info is a little late now, but I hope you can make it to another meeting.

Incidentally, there were four of us there between 4:30 and 6.

Not fun, Michael. :| Luck isn't with you, is it?

(If it makes you feel better, I haven't bought anything at the last two Coffee&Company write-ins---broke, starving college student and all that. What a cliche, no?)
