yay one person <3

i got a goal for friday, 20k. I have the whole day off so I have no excuse to get less than 10k that day

edit: oh and we can either do this during the same span of 24 hours (ie like midnight for me is pacific but if your time zone is an hour later than mine you start at 1pm instead and end at 1pm)

or we could do this everyone starts at midnight there time. anyone who wants to participate have a preference?

I'll match your 20k goal, then. I only have one class (10am), and my only other obligation is to drive my boyfriend to work (6pm). 20k should be more than do-able, if I can bring myself to write moderate levels of drivel (I'm on a good streak with quality right now, and it'll hurt to give that up). Are you working on one story, or multiple?

oh yay some one else competing : ) and you will be a formidable challenger then xD

and im working on one : ) if i find mid november i cant squeeze more than 50k out of this one then damn it all i'll start a second but i want to get 100k on this one, and i think i can.

EDIT making this post my competitors post:

we will be doing this where you start at 12:00am your time on the 7'th, and end at 12:00am the 8'th your time. Then please post how many words you got over the span of 24 hours for that day in this thread, preferably within two hours of your finish.

i want to have a challenging competition here, so Im trying to get a good prize up on the stakes xD and if we get more people in this contest then I'll add some more to the prize's : )

and yes im competing as well, but if i get any of the places the the person who is behind me will get the prize i "won"

I'm totally in! I need some serious motivation to keep at it, so this is perfect. :) I'm not sure I'm brave enough for the 20k goal, but I'll try for it (my personal required-minimum will be 15k).

Count me in, as well. I don't have any special goal for that day (by my goal of 90k words, I would be at 21k assuming I don't fall behind), but it sure would be nice to have a buffer for days like today, when I'm just now getting to my writing a few hours before bed.

count me in! I have a class for an hour and "work". But I'm an RA on campus so "work" for me consists of sitting our office with one other person from 7 to 2am with only a couple times where we HAVE to be doing something. So I should have plenty of time to write :)

Well frick. I want to join so stinkin` badly, but I don`t have off of school until Monday. Seriously considering skipping school that day and by Lord if I can`t skip school I`ll start at midnight anyway, go at it on my computer and when I have to go to school I`ll text the words out if I have to. There`s no way I can miss the first 24 hour challenge!!!

COUNT ME IN.

My health insurance will cover it, I`m sure. xD

I'm in!

I knew there would be an awesome reward for me not having work this Friday. The 20k in one day goal is a little daunting, but I'm gonna try and rock it best I can! I'm Mountain Standard Time in the US, if that helps the competition makers out at all :)

Good luck to everyone this Friday!

I'm in, but I may take more than 2 hours after midnight to update (I'm handwriting it because I don't have my own computer which means I'll wake the house up if I'm up at midnight and on the computer)
I'll try and get it in as close to midnight as possible, though!

I'm in. I have work until 5am and class at 7, puppy class at 4, hmm that leaves me with more than 14 hours to write.

I'm in. I don't know how far I'll get since son needs the computer for cyber-schooling during school hours (and hence, my writing area) but as long as hubby is home (midnight to 7am and then 5pm to midnight) I'm game to write my buns off. I might do some longhand during the day - but I doubt I'll get that part of it transcribed in addition to just building my word count.

What I love MOST about NaNo, is that it's the only time of the year my husband is cool with me staying up for days on end doing "that stupid writing stuff". LOL.

20k, eh? Well, well, I think I might try for it. My personal best in a single day is 13.5k but hey, what's November good for without insanity? :)

I'm at 15,251now, so... that would be 35,251 by midnight?

Oh my, that... that looks... frightening. *steels self and repeats her mantra*

I can do this. I can do this. *whimpers quietly*

Almost midnight here in Australia!
I'm starting at *sigh* ...475 words.

Hopefully I'll have many, many more this time tomorrow!

Oh God, I really shouldn't, but I love the idea of writing for a whole day.

Erm, I don't have a particular word goal in mind, but I guess I'll aim for anything over 15,000.

So the challenge starts at midnight on the 6th, until the 7th?

Oh yeah, current word count is 12,019, so anything over 27,000 is what I'm aiming for, hopefully more though.

... Better stock up on energy drinks XD

We should have like an AIM group chat to do it, I think that would be the easiest.
It's been really hard for me to be on the boards a lot, since the site's been in and out a lot.

Isn't it a little late for that though? It sounds like a great idea, but it's not only 50 minutes until I, and whoever's in my time-zone, start.

If this happens again it'd be a really cool idea to go with though.

Good luck to everyone!
