Chances are, somebody is going to die in your novel. Here's where you can remember them.
3800 words in: "The Angry Old Man" dies. Has a heart attack when the six year old he's trying to attack tackles him.

No character has died that wasn't dead when first introduced, but the Brave Astronauts' Doomed Mission to Europa (Codename: Bold Depressing) gets a good send-off thanks a found final journal which conveniently also advances the plot.

Nobody has died in my nanowrimo story, but three chapter's in the main male character is shot in the chest by the main female character. In others however...death is reaccurring lol. Ben (main male character) is now passed out, bleeding and getting ready for an infection >:D

Nobody specific has died, but one of the planet's space ships are fueled off the blood of dead bunnies. Chapter two was devoted to the senatorial debates over the efficiency of this. (If you're curious, the GMU voted 162-23 in favor of slaughtering those little buggers.)
On the core planet of the Ionian sector, the firstborn of every child has to be ritually slaughtered to the four gods of Caesarea. The main character is the one son *not* slaughtered, and his family's exile for such actions leads to a disruption in the space-time continuum.
(My novel has jumped the shark rather early. Next chapter: Zombie Santa.)

Jumped the shark? You're 10% in and ready to air-drop the zombies? My personal challenge this year is to not even mention Zombies -- at least until the 25,000 word mark.
Because, you know. They do come in handy when you get stalled.

My main character's mother dies in the first chapter. Technically, she dies in his arms, but I promise it's not as cliché as it sounds. He kind of catches her as she falls. Anyways, here's to Keth's mom!

I planned on the story jumping the shark early. I even toyed with titling it, "Jumping the Shark," but seeing as how there are no sharks in space (YET), I opted out of it.
My goal is to make this as ridiculous and so B-rated that it will make Plan 9 from Outer Space look like Citizen Kane.

Whoa, you're already adding zombies and you aren't even to 10k yet, that's crazy.
So... I killed the first character (however minor... so minor she doesn't even get a name =P Or rather she doesn't have a name until after she's killed) in my short writing session before class earlier this evening. Though it was kind of indirectly as it was announced over the news... but one of my characters did witness something before the very minor character was discovered in an alleyway, dead.

Pastor "Hardshell" Lee dies at the end of the first chapter when he takes a widow's automobile to a repair shop. The mechanic opens the passenger door, a loaded pistol falls out, hits the concrete floor, and discharges. Hardshell is hit right between the eyes. Hilarity and intrigue (I hope) ensue.

I second that sharks in space idea. I mean, they're the most perfect and beautiful creatures on the planet, and I'd enjoy it if they had the free roam of the infinite.

As I see it, nobody is going to die, yet. I have a character scheduled to die but I don't know if he will during November. I might not get around to writing his death until the next installation. I feel so left out there are no dead bodies littering my story...
----------Oh well, maybe next year...
Oh wait, I just thought about something, I did kill someone, it was a flash back but he died, it was a gory and gruesome death but he died... cool, now I don't feel so left out...
