Konnichiwa all! Hope your novels are going well.
The 11/8 Write-In will be at Shinjuku. We'll meet at 12:30 at Shinjuku station, nishi-guchi. Please PM me with your contact details (keitai email, or phone number) if you're RSVPing, so I can inform you of last minute details or you can contact me if you get lost. Also, bring a laptop or a notebook and several pens, we'll have word games, sprints, and lots of caffeine.
Cheerio and keep writing!

Ciao Azuire,
----------Thank you for taking care of this. We are not that familiar with Shinjuku, what line is near nishi-guchi? We will arrive on the Romance Car, love-birds as we are :-D on the Odakyu-line. I will email you my iPhone #, please email me your keitai data.
No laptop here, will bring the notebook, why several pens? Is one not enough? Should be of different colors?
About the word games; Not sure if we can participate, English is not our main language nor are we students like most of you, nor do we watch TV or are aware of current trends in music or movie stars gossips. We didn't even understand what you mean with "sprints". What else do you have planed where we can participate too and that would help the beginners that we are to reach the 50,000 target? I know you are a nano veteran and way ahead with the word count, so please have mercy and plan a time to give advice to us toddlers even if we couldn't make it into your select buddies list. :-P
We wanted to suggest something those in my home region (Mexico) are doing and that sounds very interesting to newbies as us; reading one, two--or more--paragraphs from the beginning of our novels and get an honest feedback from every participant to the meeting, sounds good to you? What does it sound to the rest of you gals and guys?
Looking forward to see you all next Sunday!

@Angelica: Don`t worry so much about it. There are a bunch of different kinds of "word games," so I`m not sure what exactly she has in mind, but I get the feeling that none of us are particularly up-to-date on celebrity gossip, so that shouldn`t be a problem. ;) "Sprints" are, in all likelihood, just a coordinated effort for everyone to write as many words as possible as quickly as possible.
I like the idea of reading aloud some paragraphs and getting some feedback, personally, even though that`s more of an editing exercise than a writing exercise (assuming the two can be separated like that). But bring it up in the meeting and we can decide then.
Shinjuku is a really major station, so there are a bunch of ways to get there. I`m heading there on the Keihin-Tohoku line myself, but that`s because I live in Yokohama. >_> And Nishi-guchi just means "west exit."
See you on Sunday! :D

Hello! :) I live very close to Shinjuku so if I can, I'd like to come join everyone in my first write-in! :P
I was wondering where the write-in will be happening (a cafe? o.o)? If you could reply back, I'd really appreciate it! If its not decided, that's okay. I will send you my contact info! :)
Hope to see everybody on Sunday! :)

Hello Fingalia,
We are happy you found us too, last Sunday we were just 5 of us finding each other, what we couldn't find at all was that famous red door ;-D
We did find a very nice sounding name place to talk though; Zen Cafe.
We are suggesting for all to bring the first couple of paragraphs or so from your novel to read aloud and get some honest feedback from all and each one of us, as I am a very green participant, I will really appreciate the feedback and are super-curious at what the others are writing and what the feedback for them from the more experienced ones will be. I try to learn from every situation as much as I can, specially since I am finding this Nanowimo experience highly interesting.
I'm wishing for everyone to suggest something to do; the more ingredients the soup has the more intellectually nutritious, and tasty! would be, right?
Looking forward to meet U next Sunday!
----------BTW; I allowed moiself, as I usually do (allow moiself anything I may fancy :-D to add U to my buddies list as I want to keep a cheering eye on all those in the Tokyo Bunch, hope you won't mind.

***Thank you Dave for the reassurance and kind explanation. Not for nothing you are my second favorite guy in the Bunch :-D
Now, if the "Sprint" means to write as fast as possible, with a pen! I definitely will do it in my mother-tongue, that will kind of compensate for the lack of keyboard, where I am fairly fast; as most using a puter for years I haven't used a pen for long handwriting sessions for a loooong time.
About "deciding in the meeting" if we can read a couple of paragraphs; you mean we will have to vote or something? What's this, a democracy? :-P
As every respectable tyranny does, we can all bring one proposal or iDEA at every meeting without the need to vote for others to be delighted, happily surprised and more than eager to act upon ;-P There is no "official maitre of ceremony" with an unmovable program to be only followed, after all, we are paying each for our own glasses of wine, aren't we?
And now that you got me started; How comes you haven't added all of US of the great Tokyo Bunch as your buddies, eh? eh? eh! :-P :-P :-P
DISCLAIM; Hubby is upstairs already in Dreamland, has nothing to do with this post, on the other hand, where I am holding the glass of red, now, THAT may have, perhaps, something to do but it is tooo late, almost 2:00 a.m., to investigate the juicy thread. :-D
----------C U soon!

***Dear Lightwithin, as a New Ager reader :-D I want to welcome you, I mean, anyone with such screen name have to be a delight, pun came out by itself, to meet, and I am not mentioning the meaningful number you chose; 7 itself. I, for one, will be very interested at hearing what are the reasons behind your choice of screen name, yours and everyone else that will like to volunteer the info.
(between us: there is a certain teal I will loooove to find out the motivation for the screen name, until few hours ago I was pretty sure it meant a color, but as curiosity finally won the upper hand and I checked it out on the dictionary, I am literally on my teatoes, I man, tiptoes, it is late this side of the screen )
Seriously, please join us, and bring some first page paragraphs you will like to read aloud and get feedback from , ehem, US, the experts in the Tokyo Bunch.
Oh yes, the place where we will held our meeting is an Azuire's well kept secret not even us in the know have heard a bit about. We are only hopping it will have something edible near or into as the appointment happens to be exactly at lunch time. :-D
Arrivederci a presto!

Oooh, exciting! I have work later on tomorrow, but I'll try to squeeze in at least an hour at the write-in. I imagine it'll probably go on for a lot longer, right?
I'll be there at 12:15, guaranteed. whoop whoop.

I have one question and one suggestion, though: the Nishi-guchi of Shinjuku station is incredibly confusing, especially for those new to Japan. For example, you'd probably want to specify "meeting in front of the large world clock display", or "meeting at the kaisatsu-guchi", because if not you'll have a couple gaijin Wrimos wandering around sadly and aimlessly.
Oh, I lied, I have just one more suggestion: if it's not too out of the way, might I suggest the Central East Exit? The plaza in front of the exit, right across from the famous Alta building, is hard to miss and easy to get directions to. Plus, if a Wrimo accidentally came out of the East exit instead, it's still a straight shot from there.

Hi Rum4life,
It makes a lot of sense what you suggest, as we could be,more likely, the one gaijin and one national couple wandering around, not sadly or aimlessly though, as we would stop at the first nice looking coffee shop and wait for the rescue team to find us, jer,jer (my version of "he,he")
BTW; I added you to my growing list of buddies, exciting! Is that O.K.? U can fire back adding moi to yours.
C U 2morrow!

Ahhh rum4life! You have an excellent suggestion but it's November 7th already. :( Perhaps another write in.
I'll be standing right in front of the ticket gate for West Exit and watching carefully for anyone wandering around aimlessly. :D So if you see some weird gaijin staring at you oddly, it's probably me.
Also, don't hesitate to call if you're lost or can't find the group. I've sent my contact number to everyone who RSVPed as of 1800H, Nov 7th.
See you all there!
